AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, M.~IIDING ORDINANCE NO.
612, OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, ADOPTED NOVS~~ER
19, 1946, PERTAINING TO PAYMENT OF TAXES FOR
AD~ISSION TO PLACES AT ;lliICH HORSE RACING OR
HARNESS HORSE RAC ING /,:EET INGS ARE HELD.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCfl~IA DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLO~S;
SECTIO~ That Section 2 of Ordinance No. 612 of the
City of Arcadia, entitled "An Ordinance of the City Council
of the City of Arcadia, California, providing for payment
of taxes for admission to places at vlhich horse racing or

oil\). \\.. I} 1946, be and the same is amended to read as foll\Jws;
IISECTroN 2. The tax imposed under Section 1 hereof shall
harness horse racing meetings are held", adopted November 19,
be paid by the person paying for such admission at the time
when, and at the place at ~hich, such admission charge is
paid. Such tax shall be collected. by the person, firm, 'cor-
poration or association charging for such admission.
Within ten (10) days after the end of each calendar week
during the time during which such rorse racing meetings or
harness racing meetings are held or conducted, such person,
firm, corpor2tion or association shall render an accounting
or statement of all persons (except bona fide employees of
such person, firm, corporation or association) admitted to
such place during such calendar week and at such time shall
file such accounting or statement with the City Treasurer of
said City of Arcadia, and shall then pay to said Treasurer all
amounts so collected as taxes hereunder.
Within thirty (30) days after the conclusion of such
horse racing ~eeting or harness racing meeting, said person,
firm, cornoration or association shall render an accounting
or statement of all persons (except bona fide employees of
such person, firm, corporation or association) admitted to

such place during the entire time during ~hich such meeting
was held or conducted, and at such time shall file such
accounting or statement with the City Treasurer of said City

and previously unpaid to him."
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this erdinance and prior to the expiration of fifteen (15)

days from the passage thereof, shall cause the same to be pub-
lished once in the Arcadia Tribune and News, a newspaper of
general circulation, Dublished and circulated in the City of
Arcadia, and thirty (30) days from and after the final passage
thereof said Ordinance shall ~ke effect and be in force.

I HEFEBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was
adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the
Ci ty of Arcadia, held on the , 7t.11 day of December, 1946,
by the affirmative vote of at least three Councilmen, to-wit:
