~j , SECTION 1. Section Two of Ordinance No. l53 of the City of ~

Arcadia, as amended by Ordinance No. 361 of the City of Arcadia,
is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 2. The Planning Commission of the City of Arcadia
shall consist of seven (7) members, not ~fficials of the City
of Arcadia or the County of Los Angeles, who shall be appointed
by the Mayor of said City of Arcadia, with the aporoval of the
City Council.
The City Engineer or his designated deputy, the City Attorney
and one membrr of the City Council, selected by the City Council,
shall serve the Planning Commission in an advisory capacity and
each shall attend the meetings of the Planning Commission when-
ever requested by the City Council so to do."
SECTION 2. Section Three of Ordinance 'No. 153 of the City of
Arcadia, as amended by Ordinance No. 36l of the City of Arcadia,
is hereby amended to read as follows:
"SECTION 3. Of the seven members of the Planning Commission
first appointed two shall be appointed f9r terms of one year;
tvlO for terms of h'o years; two for terms of three years and
one for the term of four years. The successors of the above
mentioned seven members of the Planning Co~mission shall be
appointed for t0rffis of four years.
If a vacancy shall OCCllr otherwise than by expiration of
term," the vacancy shall be filled by appointment for the unex-
pirect portion of the term."

SECTION 3.- Section Four of said Ordinance No. 153 of the
City of Arcadia is hereby amended to read as follows:

"SECTION 4. Such Commission shall select one of their
members as Chairman and shall select a Secretary, who mayor

may not be a member, and both Chairman"and Secretary shall serve
one year and until their respective successors are appointed and

in case of the absence from any meeting +he members of the

The members of the Commission shall not receive any com-
pensation for their services and' said City Council shall fix
the compensation, if any, to be paid to the Secretary."
SECTION 4. The City Clerk of said CitY. shall certify to

the adoption of this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be
published once in the Arcadia Tribune a-nd Arcadia News, a
weekly newspaper published and circulated in said City of
Arcadia and hereby designated for that "purpose, and thirty
days from and after the passage thereof, the same shall be in
full force and effect.
I HEHEJ'iY CERTIFY T:IAT the foregoing Ordinance was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia,
held on the l8th day of March, 1947, by the affirmative vote
of atleast three Councilmen, to-wit:
