MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING AND AGREEMENT
The Director of Personnel , representing the Arcadia City Council , and the Arcadia
Police Association, representing certain classifications hereinafter designated, have
been meeting and confering on wages, hours, and other terms and conditions of employ-
ment as provided for under the Meyer-Melias-Brown Act. As a result of said confer-
ences, the following modifications are recommended to the overall compensation plan
now in force to be effective July 1, 1975, through June 30, 1977:
1. This non-binding memorandum is an agreed upon recommendation of the afore-
mentioned representatives to be presented to the City Council , City of
Arcadia, for determination.
2. The following classifications are covered by this agreement:
Police Officer Police Officer assigned as Agent
Sergeant Lieutenant
Captain Police Clerk
3. As of July 1, 1975, there shall be an across-the-board salary increase
for all classifications herein designated of 6.5 percent.
4. As of January 1, 1976, there shall be an across-the-board salary increase
for all classifications herein designated of 3.5 percent.
5. As of July 1, 1976, there shall be an across-the-board salary increase
for all classifications herein designated of 5.0 percent.
6. As of January 1, 1977, there shall be an across-the-board salary increase
for all classifications herein designated of 3.5 percent.
7. Increased insurance premium cost of the employee-only coverage portion of
the City' s Major Medical and Disability Income Insurance plans shall be
paid by the City.
8. The City of Arcadia shall provide a dental insurance plan effective July 1, 1
1975. The insurance premium for the employee-only coverage portion of the
dental plan shall be paid for by the City. The dental plan shall provide
for dependent coverage at the option of the employee. Cost of dependent
coverage to be paid for by the employee.
9. The City shall modify the Public Employees Retirement Pry am benefits for
Police Safety members by providing section 20024.2'' ne year final com-
pensation instead of three years. The Public Employees Retirement System
shall be notified immediately by the City of Arcadia to effect section
20024.2 as of January 1, 1976.
10. As of July 1, 1975, there shall be a Uniform Replacement Program for the
following items:
A. Shirts B. Trousers C. Shoes
The program shall be administered by, and at the direction of the City,
for the purpose of providing replacement of worn items only. In regards,
to shoes, a purchase order of up to $25.00 shall be granted toward the pur-
chase of a pair of regulation shoes.
