AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA
CLASSIFYING CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY, BEING A PORTION OF THE ABANDONED i'I

ORDINANCE NO. 439 OF SAID CITY, ADOPTED JUNE 28, 1940.

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. That pursuant to final report and recommendation
of the Planning Commission of the City of Arcadia, and after pUblic
hearing before said Body and before this City Council as provided
by Section 26
of Ordinance No. 439 of said City, adopted June
28, 1940, those portions of Santa Anita Rancho hereinafter described,
and shown on maps of Tract No. 2731, 3430, 2828, 2409 and 949 as
the right of way of the Southern Pacific Railroad, 40 feet wide;
and Lot 4, Tract No. 2409; are hereby established as districts in
various zones under the provisions of Ordinance No. 439, and from
and after the effective date of this Ordinance said rea:!! property
shall be and become a portion of the district as herein indicated.
A description of the real property and the district in which the
same is hereby classified and established is as follows:
(a) All of that portion of said 40 foot right of way lying
between the West'3rly City boundary and a line 385.38
feet Westerly
from the Westerly line of Sunset .Blvd., is hereby made a district
in Zone R-l;
(b) All of that portion lying between the Westerly line of
Sunset Boulevard and a line 385.38 feet Westerly thereof is hereby
made a district in Zone R-3;
(c) All of that portion adjoining lots 42 and 43, Tract No.
2731, is hereby made a district in Zone R-3;
(d) All of that portion adjoining 10'ts 35 to 41 inclusive,
Tract No. 2731, is hereby made a district in Zone R-l;
(e) The Northerly 20 feet of the Westerly 140 feet of that
portion adjoining Lot 13, Tract No. 2731, is hereby made a district
in Zone R-3;
(f) The Southerly 20 feet of that portion adjoining Lot

34; all of th~t portion adjoining lots 25 to 33 inclusive, and the
Westerly 17.5 feet of Lot 24; and the Southerly 20 feet of that
portion adjoining the Easterly 152.5 feet of the Westerly 170 feet
of Lot 24, all in Tract No. 2731, is hereby made a district in Zone
R-l;
(g) The Northerly 20 feet of that portion adjoining Lot
22 of Tract No. 2731 is hereby made a district in Zone R-3;
(h) The Southerly 20 feet of that portion adjoining the
Easterly 70 feet of the Wester~ 240 feet of Lot 24 of said Tract
is hereby made a district in Zone R-2;
(i) The Northerly 20 feet of that portion adjoining Lot
23 of said Tract; and the Southerly 20 feet of that portion adjoin-
ing Lot 24 of said Tract, except the Westerly 240 feet thereof, is
hereby made a district in Zone C-l;
(j) All of that portion lying between the Easterly line of
Baldwin Avenue and a line 139.61 feet Westerly from the Easterly line
of Lot 1, Tract No. 3430, is hereby made a district in Zone R-3;
(k) All of that portion lying between a line 139.61 feet
Westerly from the Easterly line of Lot 1, Tract No. 3430, and the
Westerly line of La Cadena Avenue is hereby made a district in Zone
R-l;
(1) All of that portion lying between the Easterly line of
La Cadena Avenue and the Westerly line of Holly Avenue is hereby made
a district in Zone R-l;
(m) All of that portion lying between the Easterly line of
Holly Avenue and the Southerly line of Huntington Boulevard is hereby
made a district in Zone R-l;
(n) All of that portion lying between the Northerly line of
Huntington Boulevard and the Southerly line of Huntington Drive is
hereby made a district in Zone R-l;
(0) All of that portion described as beginning at the
intersection of the Northerly line of Huntington Drive (100 feet wide)
with the Northwesterly line of Lot 3, Tract No. 949; thence North-
easterly along said Northwesterly line 614.34 feet; thence S 520

43' 51" W 325.3 feet to a point in the Northwesterly line of said
40 foot strip; thence Southwesterly thereon 302.10 feet to the said
Northerly line of Huntington Drive (100 feet wide); thence Easterly
thereon to the point of beginning, is hereby made a district in Zone
C-2;
(p) All of Lot 4, Tract No. 2409, is hereby made a district
in Zone R-l.
SECTION 2t The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this Ordinance w1d prior to the expiration of fifteen (15) days from
the passage thereof, shall cause the same to be published once in
the Arcadia Trib1me and Arcadia News, a newspaper of general cir-
culation, published and circulated in the City of Arcadia, and
thirty (30) days from and after the final passage thereof said
Ordinance shall take effect and be in force.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia,
held on the 15th day of January, 1946, by the affirmative vote of
at least three Councilmen, to wit:
