ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING,
CALLING, PROVIDING FOR, AND
GIVING nOTICE OF A SPECIAL
ELECTION TO BLi: HELD IN THE
CITY OF ARCADIA ON THE 30TH
DAY OF APRIL, 1946, FOR THE
PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING TO THE

\'rnEREAS, the City Council of the City of
Arcadia, California, did, on the 26th day of March, 1946,
by a vote of more than two-thirds of the members of said
City Council, adopt Resolution No. ~ entitled "Reso-
lu tion of the City C ounc 11 of the City of Arcadia,
California, detennining that the public interest and v
necessity demand the acquisition and construction of a [-
certain municipal improvement, and making findings
relating thereto," which said resolution was duly
signed and approved by the Mayor of said City and
attested and certified by the City Clerk of said City;

and the same is hereby called to be held, in the City of
Arcadia, California, on the 30th day of April, 1946, for
the purpose of submitting to the qualified voters of said

City the propos i tion of incurring indebtedness and issuing
bonds of said City therefor, in the amount hereinafter set
forth, and for the objects and purposes set forth in said
resolution and hereinafter stated.
Section 2. That the objects and purposes for
which said indebtedness is proposed to be incurred and
bonds iSSU9d therefor are as follows:
rhe acquisition and construction by the
City of Arcadia of a certain municipal improve-
ment, to wit: trunk and interceptor sanitary
sewers for said City, including the acquisition
of all pipe, equipment, apparatus, materials,
easem'3nts and property necessary or convenient
therefor.
Section 3. That the estimated cost of the
proposed municipal improvement described in Section 2
hereof is the sum of three hundred fifty thousand dollars
($350,000.00); that the amount of the principal of the
indebtedneas to be incurred therefor is the sum of three
hundred fifty thousand dollars ($350,000.00); that the
maximum rate of interest to be paid on said indebtedness
shall not Elxceed four per cent (4~) per annum, payable
semiannually.

said indebtedness so submitted receives the requisite
number of votes, to wit, two-thirds of the votes of the

said City in not exceeding the principal amount stated
in such proposition shall be issued and sold for the
objects and purposes set forth herein.
Section 4. That the polls for said election
shall be opened at seven o'clock, A.M. of the day of said
election, and shall remain open continuously from said time
until seven o'clo<& P.!.1., of the same day, when said polls
shall be closed, except as provided in Section 5734 of the
Elections Gode of the State of California.

To vote on any measure, stamp a cross (X) in the

forbidden. All distinguishing marks or erasures
are forbidden and make the ballot void.
If you wrongly s tamp, tear, or deface this ballot,
return it to the inspector of election and obtain
another.

A cross (xl stamped in the voting square after
the word "YES" shall be counted in favor of the adoption
of the ques tion or propos i tion. A cros s (X) s tamped in
the voting square after the v/ord "NOtll shall be counted
against the adoption of the question or proposition.
Section 5. That for the purpose of holding
said election, there shall be and are hereby established
ten election precincts, designated as hereinafter stated;
that the polling places for the respective precincts shall
be the places hereinafter designated, and that the persons
hereinafter named, being competent and qualified electors
and residents of said City and of their respective election
precincts, are hereby appointed officers of election for
their respective election precincts, and they shall hold
said election and make return thereof in the manner pro-
vided by law.
Voting Precinct A shall consist of regular elec-
tion precincts Nos. 1, 14, and 29 in the City of Arcadia
as now es tablished for the holdine of state and county
elections.

Section 6. That in all particulars not recited
in this ordinance, said election shall be held and conduclBd
as provided by law for holding municipal elections in said
City.
Section 7. That the City Council of said City
shall meet at its usual place of meeting in the Coimci1+:

8:.00 o'clock, P.M., of said day, and proceed to canvass
the election returns and declare the result of said
election.
Section 8. That the City Clerk shall certify
to the passage and adoption of this ordinance by a vote
of more than two-thirds of all of the members of the City
Council of said City at a regular meeting of said Council,
and its approval by the Mayor of said City, and shall cause
said ordinance to be published once a week for two (2) weeks
in THE! ARCADIA TRIBUNE AND NEWS, a weekly newspaper of
general circulation in said City. No other notice of such
election need be given.
Section 9. This ordinance shall take effect
upon its passage.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 2nd day of
April, 1946.

Section 8, That the City Clerk
shall certify to the passage and
- adoption of this ordinance by a
vote of more than two-thirds of
all of the members of the City

meeting of said Conncll, and its
approval by the Mayor of said City.

be published once a week for two

BUNE AND NEWS, a weekly news-

taid City. No other notice ot such
election need be given.
Section 9. This ordinance shall
take effect upon its passage.
