ORDINANCE NO. 591.
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA,
CALIFORNIA, REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 574 OF SAID CITY, ADOPTED
JANUARY 15, 1946, WHEREBY A PERMANENT EXCEPTION \7AS [.IADE TO
CERTAIN PROVISIONS OF ORDINANCE NO. 439 OF SAID CITY ADOPTED
JUNE 28, 1940.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Petition of Peter Kiewit Sons' Company, having
been filed in the office of the Planning Commission of the City
of Arcadia reqt~sting that Ordinance No. 574 of the City of
Arcadia, entitled" An Ordinance of the City Council of the City
of Arcadia making a permanent exception to certain provisions of
Ordinance No. 4,39 of said City of Arcadia, adopted June 28, 1940."
permitting the following described property, to wit:
A part of lots 5 and 8, Block 84, Santa Anita Tract, as
shown on map recorded in Book 34, Pages 41 and 42,
Miscellaneous Records, described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the Northerly line of the
right of way of the Southern Pacific Railroad with the
westerly line of Fifth Avenue; thence westerly along the
northerly line of said right of way l50 feet; thence
northerly parallel with the westerly line of Fifth Avenue
200 feet; thence easterly parallel with said right of way
150 feet to the westerly line of Fifth Avenue; thence
southerly thereon 200 feet to the place of beginning,
to be used for the purpose of conducting a general contracting
business thereon including the erection, occupancy and use
of an office bu~lding, be repealed, and
Recommendation having been made by the Planning Commission
to this Council that said Ordinance be repealed, and
A full investigation and consideration of the facts having
been made by thi:l Council pertinent to said petition,
Said Ordinanee No. 574, heretofore adopted on the 15th
day of January, 1946, be and the same is hereby repealed.

SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Ordinar..ce and prior to the expiration of fifteen (15)
days from the passage thereof, shall cause the same to be pub-
Ii shed once in the Arcadia Tribune and Arcadia,News, a newspaper
of general circulation, published and circulated in the City of
Arcadia, and thirty (30) days from and after the final passage
tpereof said Ordinance shall take effect and be in force.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council of tPe City of Arcadia,
held on the 28tJ1.day of
June
, 1946, by the affirmative vote
of at least three councilmen, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen, Adcock, Cornyn, Nugent and Ormsby

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TIill CITY OF ARCADIA,
CALIFORNIA, CHANGING THE NAME OF CARMELITA COURT, IN THE CITY
OF ARCADIA.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the name of Carmelita Court running in a
northerly direction from Hacienda Drive be and the same is
hereby changed to and established as:
CARMELITA PLACE.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this Ordinance and prior to the expiration of fifteen (15) days
from the passage thereof, shall cause the same to be published
once in the Arcadia Tribune and Arcadia News, a newspaper of
general circulation, published and circulated in the City of
Arcadia, and thirty (30) days fr.om and after the final passage
thereof said Ordinance shall take effect and be in force.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance was adopted at
a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, held
