ORDINANCE NO. 596
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA,
CALIFORNIA, AMENDING OHDINANCE NO. 497 OF SAID CITY BY ADDING
THERETO A !\'EW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AND NUMBERED AS SECTION 21.1,
LICENSING AND m:GULATING THE OPERATION OF TOTALIZER N1ACHINES IN
SAID CITY.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA,
DOES ORDAIN AS F'OLLOVlS:

within said City of Arcadia and Repeal ing Ordinances Nos. 232, 245, 268,
403, and 429.", adopted on the 17th day of November, 1942, be and
the same is hereby amended Qy adding thereto a new Section to be
SECTION 1~ That Ordinance No. 497 of the City of Arcadia,
known and mmbered as Section 21.1, and to read as follows:
"SECTION 21.1.
PERSONS OPERATING TOTALIZER ~\ACHINES. All
persons owning, renting, leasing or licensing a tbtalizer machine, or
totalizer machines, on a rental, royalty, or other basis to persons
owning or operating a horse racing course in the City of Arcadia shall
pay a daily license fee of One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) for each and
every day during which such machines are in operation; provided,
however, that such persons so to be charged with said license fee
are not the owner& or operators of the horse racing course at which
said machine or machines are in operation. It
SECTION 2.
The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Ordinance and prior to the expiration of fifteen (15) days
from the passage thereof, shall cause the same to be published once
in the Arcadia Tribune and Arcadia News, a newspaper of general
circulation, published and circulated in the City of Arcadia, and
thirty (30) days from and after the final passage thereof said
Ordinance shall take effect and be:ln force.

Arcadia, held on the 22ndday of July

SECTION 1. That Ordinance

ifornia, entitled "An Ordinance of
the City CaunclI of the City of Ar-
cadia. Provtding for Ucensing aod
Regulating the Carrying on of Cer-
tain Businesses, Professions, Ti:ades,
calIings and Occupations within
said City of Arcadia and Repealing
Ordinances Nos. 232. 245, 268, 403,
a.nd 429.", adopted on the 17th day
of November, 194.2, be a.nd the same
is hereby amended by adding there-
to a new Section to be known and
numbered as Section 21.1. and to
read as tollows:
"SElCTlON 21.1. PERSONS OP-
