AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF ARCADIA,
CALIFORNIA; SUSPENDING THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 2 AND SECTION
3 OR ORDINANCE NO. 58\ OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, AND AMENDING SAID
ORDINANCE NO. 5ffiBY ADDING THERETO; ~VO NEW SECTIONS TO BE NUM-
BERED SECTIONS 2A and 2m RE-ESTABLISHING THE SALARIES OF THE
CITY CLERK!: AND THE CITY TREASURER OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA FOR A
LIMITED PERIOD OF TIME.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, OALIFORNIA,
roES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWSc:
SECTION 1. That the provisions of Section 2 and
Section 3 of Ordinance No. 581 of the City of Arcadia entitled::
.. An Or.dinanoe of the Board of Trustees of the City of Arcadia
fixing the salaries to be paid to the Oity Olerk, Oity Treasurer,
,
Oity Marshall, City Engineer, Street SUperintendent, City Attorney,
and Oity Reoorder of said City of Aro'9.dia adopted December 21, 1943,"
be, and the s8lIle are, hereby suspended for the period oommencing upon
the effective date of this Ordinanoe, oontinuing until six months
after hostilit:l.es terminate in eaoh of the wars iin Whioh the United
States is now engaged, whiohever las~ terminate, as proclatmed by
the President of the United State~.
That upon the termination of said suspension, the provis-
ions of said Seotions 2 and 3 of said Ordinance shall again ge in'
full force and effect.
SECTION 2. That said Ordinance No. 58~ of the City o~' ,
Arcradia be, and the same is, hereby amended by adding thereto twO)
new sections to be numbered Section 2A and Seotion 2B-', respectivelyt',

and which shall read as follows; to-wit:,
"SEO'rION 2A. That oommencing upon the effecti'1Ml date or:
this Ordinanoe, and continuing until six months; after hostilities
terminate in each of the wars in Which the United States is now
engaged, Whichever last terminate, as proclaimed by the Eresident
of the United States, the salary of the City Clerk'of said Oity of
Arcud1a shall be, and the same is, hereby fixed at the sum of Three
Hundred and Fifty Doll IU! Sl ($350'000') per month; salli salary shall

Arcadia, in the same manner as other salary warrants 'of the officers
of said City ana drawn and paid, said salary shall be in f'U1l compen-
sation for all duties by him required to be performed by law or by:-

"SECTION 2B. That commencing upon the effective date o~
this Ordinano.'€l, and continuing until six months atter hostilities,
terminate in eaab of the wars in which the United States is now en-
gaged, Whichever last terminate, as proclaimed by the President off
the United States, the salary of the City Treasurer' of_ aaid City of
Arcadia shall be, and the same is, hereby fixed at the sum of Two
Hundred and Fifty Dollar91 ($250.00)). per monthr said salary shall,
be paid by warrant drawn upon the Oi ty Treasurer of said C1 ty of:
Arcadia, in the same manner as other salary warrants of the officers;
of said City are drawn and paid, said salary shall be in full compen-
sation for all duties by him required tmbe performed by law or by
direction of said City Councilor any Ordinance of said City."
~ION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption'
of this Ordinanoe and prior to the expiration of fifteen (15) days1
tram the pas sage thereof, shall caus e the same to be published once
in the Arcadia Tribune and Arc-e.dia News" a newspaper of generall
circulation, published and circulated in the Oi ty of Arosdia and~
thirty (30); days from and after the f'1nal passage thereafc'sa1d'
Ordinanos shall take effect and ij~ in forc~.

at a reguJ.ar meeting of the City Council of the City of Aroadia,
held on the 20thday of August, 1946, by the affirmative vote o~' at

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE

DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the provisions
of Section 2 and Section 3 of Ordi-
nance No. 58 of the City of Arca-
dia entitled: "An Ordinance of the
Board of Trustees of the City of
Arcadia flxlng the 5 a 1 a r 1 e 5
to be paid to the City Clerk,
City Treasurer. City Marshal, City
Engineer, street Superintendent,
City Attorney, and City Recorder of
said City of Arcadia adopted De-
cember 21. 1943," be. and the same
are, hereby suspended for the period
ccmmencing upon the effective date
of this Ordinance. continuing until

the United States is now engaged,
whichever last terminate. as pro-
claimed by the President of the
United states.
That upon the termination of said
suspension, the provisions of sald
Sections 2 and 3 of said Ordinance
lihall again be in full force and ef-
tecto
SECTION 2. That said Ordin-
ance No. 58 of the City of Arcadia
be, and the same is, hereby amend-
ed by adding thereto two new sec-
tions to be numbered Sectton 2A
Ilnd Section 2B, respectively, Bnd
which shall read as follows; to-wit:
"SECTION 2A. That commenc-
ing upon the effective date of thUs
Ordinance. and continuing untU six

United States, the salary of the City
Clerk of said City of Arcadia shall

SECTION 3. 'TIle City Clel1t shall
certify to the adoption of this Or-
dinance and prior to the expiration
of fifteen (IS) days from the }JMS-
age thereof, shall cause the same
to be PUblished once in the Arcadia
Tribune and Arcadia News, a news-
paper of general circulation, pub-
l1shed and circulated in the City of
Arcadia and thirty (30) days from
and after the final passage thereof
said OrdInance shall take effect and
he in force.
I hereby certify that the torego-
ing Ordinance was adopted at a
regular meeting of the City Council
01 the City 01 Arcadia. held on the
20th day of August, 1946. by the
afttrmative vote of at least three
councilmen. to-wit:
AYES: Councilmen Leeper, Nu-
gent, Ormsby and Russell.
NOES: COuncilman Adcock.
ABSENT: None.
