AN ORDINANCE 01' THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY. OF ARCADIA ESTAl3LISHING
SETBACK LIN:i!:S ON POR~IONS OF FOOTHILL BOULEVARD IN SAID CITY.

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Thlit after a public heariIlB pursuant to Resolution of
Intention No. 1166, the City Council of the City of Arcadia does hereby
determine that the public peace, health, safety, interest and welfare
require, and it is hereby ordered that setback lines be established on
portions of Foothill Bo~levard in said City, which shall be as hereinafter
set forth.
SECTION 2. That it shall be unlawful for any person, firm or.
corporation to erect, construct or locate any building or other structure
upon any lot or land fronting on the northerly side of Foothill Boulevard
from Santa Anita Ave:rl.ue to a point. two hundred fifty (250') feet westerly
thereof unless the soone be set back to a line which is distant ten (10')
feet northerly from and parallel to the northerly line of said Foothill
Boulevard.
SECTION :5. That it shall be mlawful for any person, firm or
corporation to erect, construct or locate any building or other structure
upon any lot or land fronting on the southerly side of Foothill Boulevard
from Santa Anita Avenue west to Tindalo Road um~ess the same is set back
to a line which is distant ten feet (10') souther!y~from and parallel to
the southerly line of Foothill Boulevard.
SECTION 4. That any person, firm or corporation violating any of
the provisions of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor
and upon conviction thereof shall be punishable by a ~1ne not exceeding
THREE HUNDRED ($:500.00) DOLLARS, or by impribsonment in the City Jail of
said City of Arcadia, or in the County Jail of said County of Los Angeles,
State of California, at the discretion of the Committing Magistrate, for
a period not exceeding three (3) months, or by both such fine and imprison-
ment; and each such person, firm or corporation shall be deemed guilty
of a separate offense for each day during any portion of which the
violation of or failure, neglect or refusal to comply with amy of the

provisions of this Ordinance is committed, continued or permitted.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this

Ordinance and priol~ to the expirat ion of fifteen (15) days from the
passage thereof', shall cause the same to be published once in the Arcadia
Tribune and ArcadiH News, a newspaper of general oirculation, published
and circulated in the City of Arcadia, and thirty days from and after the
f'inal passage thereof said Ordinance shall take eflect and be in force.
