AN ORDIliAHCE OF THE CITY CO'JNCIL OF 'rHE CITY OF ARCADIA,
RELATING TO AIR RAID SHELTERS.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA OOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLO.liS:
SECTION 1. As used in this Ordinance the words "Air Raid
Shelter" shall mean any structure designed and constructed to protect one
or more persons from injury or death during attack by enemy airplanes in
time of war.
SECTION 2. The Building Inspector of the City of Arcadia is
authorized and he is hereby instructed to waive the collection of any and
all fees for electrical, plumbing and building permits for the construction
of a:ay Air Raid Shelter having a housing capacity of fiftoen porsons or
less.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance is required for the immediate
preservation of the public peace, health and safety, and the following
is the statement of facts concerning such urgency: The United States is at
war and this City is in great and continuing danger of air attacks by the
enemy.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this Ordinance and shall cause the same to be published in one regular
issue of the Arcadia Tribune and Arcadia News, a newspaper of general
circulation, published and circulate~.in said City of Arcadia, and thereupon
and thereafter the s!llne shall take etf~ct and be in force.
The foregoing Ordinance was adopted at a
