HomeMy WebLinkAbout0375 vi' ., ... / ORDINANCE NO. 375 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA MAKING A CONDITIONAL VARIANCE TO CERTAIN PROVISIONS OF ORDINANCE NO. 170 OF SAID CITY OF ARCADIA AS AMENDED, APPROVED MARCH 3rd, 1926, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION 4 THEREOF, PERMITTING A RIDING ACADEMY ON A PORTION OF LOT 6. TRACT NO. 949. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES ORDAIN AS FOLI.OWS: SECTION 1: An application signed by Rancho Santa Anita, Inc., having been filed with the Planning Commission of said City of Arcadia pursuant to section 4 of Ordinance No. 170 as amended, entitled "An Ordinance of the City of Arcadia, California, pro- viding for the es1;ablishment or erection in said City of seven zones consisting of various districts and prescribing the class of build- ings, structures, improvements and occupancy in said several zones and the use thereof; the percentage of area that may be covered by improvements and the height to which buildings may be erected; de- fining the terms used therein and prescribing the penalty for the violation of the provisions thereof", adopted March 3, 1926, asking I\OEO ), No. that a conditional variance be made from the provisions of the above ....4.( ~, Ordinance affectir~ the property described in said application and setting forth the specific reasons therefor and the circumstances in connection therewith; this Council after first having invest~gated the subject of the application, determines that there are exceptional or extraordinary circumstances or conditions applicable to the pro- perty involved and to the intended uses thereof, that do not apply generally to the property or classes of uses in the same zone and district; that the granting of the request made therein will not be materially detrimental to the public welfare or injurious to the property or improvements within the zone and district in which said property is locatel:1 and will not be inconsistent with the general purposes of Ordinance No. 170 as amended; This Council therefore, grants a conditional variance from the provisions of said Ordinance No. 170 as amended, but only so far as such var:lance is necessary to permit the following -1- cJ SJ>6--' described real property, to-wit: A portion of Lot 6, Tract No. 949, as per map recorded in Book 17, Page 13 of Maps, ~ecords of Los Angeles County, de- scribed as follows: Beginning at a point in the Westerly line of said Lot 6, 95 feet Northerly thereon from its intersection with the Easterly prolongation of the Northerly line of Oakdale Avenue as shown on map of Tract No. 3489, recorded in Book 46, Page 56 of Maps, Records of said County; thence Easterly parallel with said Oakdale Avenue 325 feet; thence Southerly parallel with the Wes- terly line of said Lot 6, 280 feet; thence Easterly parallel with Oakdale Avenue 500 feet; thence Northerly parallel with and 825 feet Easterly from the Westerly line of said Lot 6, to the inter- section of the Easterly prolongation of the Northerly line of Mountain View Avenue, as shown on said map of Tract No. 3489; thence Westerly on said Easterly prolongation to the Westerly line of said Lot 6; thence Southerly thereon to the point of beginning, containing 18.4 acres, more or less, to be used for the purpose of conducting a riding academy upon said property.
