ORDINANCE NO. 390
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA
ESTABLISHING A SET BACK LINE ON A PORTION OF HOLLY AVENUE IN SAID
CITY OF ARCADIA.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCilDIA DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLO\'lS:
SECTION 1. That after a public hearing pursuant to

Resolution of Intention No. 947, the City Council of the City of
Arcadia does h'~reby determine that the public peace, health, safety,
interost and wl~lfare require and it is hereby ordered that the
minimum distanoe from the street line for the erection of buildings
or structures to be designated as the building line on a portion
of Holly Avenull in said City of Arcadia shall be as hereinafter
set forth.
SECT:ON 2. That it shall be unlawful for any person,
firm or corporation to erect, construct or locate any building or
other structurE. upon any lot or land fronting on the westerly side
of Holly AvenUE' in said City of Arcadia, from Longden Avenue to
Walnut Avenue, unless the same be set back to a line which is distant
twenty (201) feet westerly from and parallel to the westerly line
of Holly Avenue.
SECTION 3.
which is in conflict
That that portion of Ordinance No.
herewith, 01' any other Ordinance or

portions
of ordinances in conflict herewith, be and the same are hereby
repealed; that this repealing clause is not intended to affect
other portions of Ordinance No. 257 or any other Ordinance of the
City of Arcadia not in conflict with this Ordinance.
SECTI,)N 4. That any person, firm or corporation violating
any of the provIsions of this Ordinance shall be deemed guilty of a
misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punishable by a
fine not exceed~~ng THREE HUNDRED ($300.00) DOLLARS, or by imprison-
ment in the Cit~' jail of said City of Arcadia or in the County jail
of said County of Los Angeles, State of California, at the discretion

~onths# or by both such fine and imprisonment; and each such person,
firm or corporation shall be deemed guilty of a separate offense
for each day during any portion of which the violation of or failure,
neglect and refusal to comply with any of the provisions of this
Ordinance is committed, continued or permitted.
SECTI3N5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Ordinan'~e and cause the same to be published once in the
Arcadia Tribune, a newspaper of general circulation, published and
circulated in said City of Arcadia, and thirty (30) days from and
after the final passage hereof the same s~all take effect and be in
force.
I hereby certify that the foregoins Ordinanoe was adopted
at a regular meElting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia,
beld on tbe15th.day of November, 1938, by the affirmative vote of
at least tbree c,ouncilmen, to-wit:
