ORDINANCE NO. 728 OF THE CITY OF

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE C~TY,OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 728 of the City of Arcadia,
entitled "AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA
REGULATING TRAFFIC UPON THE PUBLIC STREETS AND REPEALING ORDINANCE
NO. 200 OF SAID CITY, ADOPTED JUNE 15, 1928, AND ALL OTHER ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HERE~lITHn, adopted on the 5th day of Oc tober, 1948, be
and the same is hereby amended by amending Sections 54 and 55 there-
of, the same to read respectively as follows:
nSECTION 54. PARKING UPON ONE:-WAY STREETS AND ROADWAYS:
n(a) The City Engineer is authorized to determine when
standing or parking shall be prohibited upon the left-hand side of
anyone-way street or of any one-way roadway of a highway having two
at
'or more separate roadways, and/all such places where standing or
parking is thus prohibited he shall erect signs giving notice there-
,of.
n(b) No pe~son shall at any time park any vehicle upon
any one:-way street or upon any one-way roadway other than entirely
within one parallel parking space where one or more parallel parking
spaces are designated by lines painted or durably marked upon the
surface of said street.
n(c) Where parking on the left-hand side is permitted as
provided above;
"(l) No person shall park or s'tand a 'vehicle unless
the vehicle faces in the direction of lawful traffic movementj
"(2) No person shall park or stand any vehicle at

the left-hand curb of anyone-way street or upon the left-hand curb
of anyone-way roadway with either the left rear or the left front
wheels more 'than eighteen (l8) inches fro~ the left-hand curb.

"SECTION 55.
SIGNS OR MARKINGS INDICATING ANGLE.PARKING.

"(a) Whenever any ordinance of this city designates and
describes any street or portion thereof upon which angle parking
shall be permitted, the City Engineer shall paint or durably'mark
lines upon such street indicating the angle at which vehicles shall
be parked.
"(b) When markings are thus in place indicating angle,
parking as herein provided, no person shall park or stand a vehicle
other than at the angle to ,the curb or edge of roadway indicated by
such signs or markings with the right front wheel being not more
than eighteen, (l8) inches from the curb or edge ofroadway~ except
that certain vehicles shall be permitted to back into said angle
parking space as provided in Section 56 hereof.
"(c) 'Whenever any street or r.oadway is designated and
marked for angle parking no vehicle shall park other than entirely
within one designated parking space.
"( d) Angle parking shall be pe'rmi tted upon those streets
and parts of streets described in Section 79 hereof."
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
,of this ordinance and prior to the expiration of fifteen (l5) days
from the ,passage thereof shall cause the same to be published once
in the Arcadia Tribune and Arcadia News, a newspaper of general
,circulation, published and circulated in the City of Arcadia, and
thirty.(30) days from and after the final passage 'thereof, said
Ordinance shall take effect and be in force.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia,
held on the
