ORDINANCE NO. 992
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA,
FIXING THE AMOUNT OF MONEY NECESSARY
TO BE RAISED BY TAXATION FOR THE
FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JULY 1,' 1957.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES
'ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That pursuant to the provisions of Title 5,
'Division 1, Part 2, Chapter 2, Article 1, of the Government Code of
the State of California, as amended, the amount of money necessary
to be raised by taxation upon the taxable property of the City of
Arcadia as revenue to carryon the various departments of said City
for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1957, and,topay the bonded or
other indebtedness of said City, is hereby fixed in the amount of
$817,464.00.
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its
adoption. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Or-
dinance and prior to the expiration of fifteen (15) days from the
passage thereof shall cause the same to be pUblished once in the Ar-
cadia Tribune and Arcadia News, a newspaper of general circulation
published and circulated in the City of Arcadia.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was adopted
an adjourned
at I regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia held
on the 27th

at least three Councilmen, to wit:

suant to Ordinance No. 915, adopted r~y 17, 1955; North Arcadia An-
I).exation No. 12, pursuant to Ordinance No. 932". adopted November 1"
1955; North Arcadia Annexation No. 13, pursuant to Ordinance: No. 933,
adopted November 1, 1955j and West Arcadia Annexation No. 14, pursu-
ant to Ordinance No. 938, adopted December 20,1955.
District No.2 shall include and, comprise all of the city
of Arcadia as the same existed on February 1, 1956, except those por-
tions thereof hereinbefore included in District No. 1 and excepting
those portions thereof herei~after included within District No.3.
District No. 3 shall include all that territory annexed to
the ,City of Arcadia' by the rollowingannexations thereto: West Ar-
cadia Annexations Nos. 5 and 6, pursuant to Ordinance No. B05,
adopted April 4, 1950; Foothill Boulevard Annexation No.1, pursuant
to O~dinance No. 891, adopted May 18, 1954j and Southeast Arcadia Un-
inhabited Annexation No. 15, pursuant to Ordinance No. 972, adopted
November 20, 1956.
SECTION 3. For the purpose of raising the sums of money
necessary to be raised by taxation upon the real prope~ty within the
respective districts hereinafter described to pay for the items of
maintenance and operation furnished the street lighting systems
therein, the rates of taxes for the respective portions and dis-
tricts of the City of Arcadia are hereby fixed and taxes are hereby
levied on all real property in the respective districts in pprtions
of said City for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1957, in the num-
ber of cents upon each one hundred dollars ($100.00) of assessed
value of said real property as assessed by the County Assessor and
equalized by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles.
The respective lighting maintenance districts are described as fol-
lows:
