ORDINANCE NO. .1000
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, RE-
CLASSIFYING CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY IN
SAID CITY FOR COMMERCIAL PURPOSES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCAD~A, CALIFORNIA, DOES
DETERMINE AND ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. .That after hearings duly instituted and held,
after notice required by law, by and before the City Planning Com-
mission and the City Council, this Council by Ordinance No. 943,
passed, approved and adopted on February 15, 1956, did determine
that certain real property on the south side of Huntington Drive,
situated between property zoned C-2 and the Santa Fe. Railroad right
of way,. should be.zoned for commercial purposes when and if suffi-
cient property is dedicated for adequate alley access at the rear
of such property and provision for proper drainage is made.
SECTION 2. That proper provision, as determined to be
necessary prior to reclassification. under Ordinance No. 943, having

been made for an alley between. Huntington Drive and the Santa Fe
right of way, extending easterly from Third Avenue with a turn around,
by deed to the City of Arcadia for such purpose, accepted October 15,
1957, by Resolution No. 2936, and provision for surf~ce drainage
having been made satisfactory to the Engineering Department of the
City of Arcadia, that the following described real property in the
City of Arcadia, County of Los Angeles,> State of California, to wit:
Lot 5, Tract No. 5205, except the north 150 feet
and except the southwesterly.25 feet thereof, as
shown on map recorded in Book 54, page 61, of Maps,.
Records of Los Angeles County,
shall be and the same is hereby reclassified from Zone R-3 to Zone
C-2 and from and after the effective date of this Ordinance said.
property shall be rezoned and established as a district in Zone C-2
under the provisions of Ordinance No. 760 of said City adopted May 3,

1949, and as thereafter amended; and said Ordinance No. 760 as amended,
and the. map therein contained, are hereby amended to reclassify and
to designate the. above described property as a district in Zone C-2
under the provisions of said Ordinance No. 760 as amended.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall. certify to the adoption
of this Ordinance and prior to the expiration of fifteen (15) days
from the passage thereof, shall cause the same to be published once
in the Arcadia Tribune-and the Arcadia News, a newspaper of general
circulation published and circulated in the City of Arcadia, and
thirty (30).days from and after the final passage thereof said Ordi-
nance shall take effect and be. in force.
I.HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia,
held on the 19th
day of November
, 1957, by the affirmative
vote of at least three Councilmen, to wit:
