HomeMy WebLinkAbout0944 ORDINANCE NO. 944 ;1- , AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, RE- CLASSIFYING CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY IN SAID CITY FOR COMMERCIAL PURPOSES. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES DETERMINE AND ORDAIN.. AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That after hearings duly instituted and held, after notice required by law, by and before the City Planning Com- mission and the City Council, this Council by Ordinance No. 912, passed, approved and adopted on July 19, 1955, did determine that property abutting Duarte Road between First and Second Avenues should be zoned for commercial purposes when and if provision is made for the widening of Duarte Road and Second Avenue and for ade- quate alley access to the rear of such property. SECTION 2. That proper provision} as determined to be necessary prior to reclassification under'Ordinance No. 912, having been made for the widening of Second Avenue and Duarte Road, and for an alley, by deeds to the City of Arcadia for such purposes, accepted , December 20, 1955, by Resolution No. 2720, that the following de- scribed real property ,in ~he City of Arpadia,.pounty of Los Angeles, , State of California, to wit: The east 76 feet of Lot l5, Tract No. 808, except the southerly 326 feet thereof, as shown on map recorded in Book 16, pages 82 and 83, of Maps, records of Los Angeles County, , shall be and the same is hereby reclassified from Zone R-l to Zone C-l and from and after the effective date of this Ordinance said property shall be rezoned and established as a district in Zone C-l under the provisions of Ordinance No. 760 of said City, adopted May 3, 1949, as amended; and said Ordinance No. 760, as amended, and the map therein contained, are hereby amended to reclassify and -1- lNlllilW) 944 ;i . ,"::/~'.L. to designate the above described property as a district in Zone C-l under the provisions of said Ordinance No. 760 as amended. SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Ordinance and prior to the expiration of fifteen (15) days from the passage thereof, ~hall cause the same to be published once in the Arcadia Bulletin, a newspaper of general circulation published and circulated in the City of Arcadia, and thirty (30) days from and after the final passage thereof said Ordinance shall take effect and be in force.
