HomeMy WebLinkAbout0896 ORDINANCE NO. 896 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARDADIA, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING THE IMPROVEi'iIENT OF OPENING AND EXTENDING LOUISE AVENUE, AND THE OPENING AND EXTENDING, OF LE ROY AVENUE IN SAID CITY, IN ACCORDANCE VITTH ORDINANCE OF INTENTION NO. 892. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arcadia, on the 18th day of May, 1954, adopted and approved its Ordinance of Intention, being Ordinance No. 892, declaring its intention to order the improvement described therein to be done, which said Ordinance of Intention duly and legally was published as required by law, and notice of said improvement having been given in the manner required by law, and all protests filed by the owners of the property to be assessed for said improvement prior to the time set in said Ordinance of IntentiOD for filing protests having been heard and overruled by the City Council: NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Arcadia does ordain as follows: SECTION 1. That the public interest and convenience require, and the City,Council of the City of Arcadia hereby orders the improvement described in Ordinance of Intention No. 892 of said . City to be made, to wit: The opening and extending of Louise Avenue in said City from a point 194.37 feet, more or less, southerly of the southerly boundary of Christina Street, being the present point of termination of Louise Avenue, to a point 1004 feet, more or less, southerly therefrom; and the opening and extending of Le Roy Avenue from the easterly line of Santa Anita Avenue to a point 434.84 feet, more or less, easterly therefrom, all within the City of Arcadia. SECTION 2. The City Attorney and Burke, Williams & Sorensen, as special attorneys, hereby are directed to bring an action in the proper Superior Court, in the name of the City, for the condemnation of the property necessary or convenient to be acquired for said . improvement, as said property is described by said Ordinance of Intention No. 892. SECTION 3. For a description of the property to be acquired, the grades to which improvements may be made, and the extent of the assessment district, all of which shall be as set forth and described in said Ordinance of Intention No. 892. reference to said Ordinance of Intention hereby is made for all such particulars. SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and shall cause the same to be published twice in the Arcadia Bulletin, a newspaper published and circulated in the City of Arcadia, the first of which publications shall be within fifteen days from the date of adoption of this ordinance. SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance. .
