ORDINANCE NO. 824
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTION 13A OF ORDINANCE No.630,
SUBDIVISION (e) THEREOF, AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE
NO. 675 OF SAID CITY.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Ordinance No. 630 of the City of Arcadia
adopted and approved February 18, 1947 and entitled, "An Ordinance
of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, providing for the
supervision and regulation of the transportation of persons for
oompensation upon the public streets and presoribing penalties for
the violation thereof", as amended by Ordinance No. 675 of said
City, is hereby ~ended by amending Seotion 13A Subdivision (e)
thereof as added by Ordinance No. 675 of the City of Arcadia
adopted and approved October 21, 1947, and entitled, "An Ordinance
of the City Council of the City of Arcadia amending Ordinance No.
630 of the City of Arcadia, adopted February 18, 1947, and providing
for the use of taximeters", the same to read when amended as follows:
"Subdivision (e) No person shall charge, collect, demand,
reoeive or arrange for any compensation for service of any
automobile for hire in this City, used for the conveyance of
passengers, any amount, rate or compensation greater than the
charges or rates herein set forth:
The maximum rates or fares to be charged the public by
metered automobiles for hire operating over any street shall be,
and the same are hereby fixed, as follows: The maximum rates
of fare shall be twenty-five (25) cents for the first one-
half (1/2) mile or fraction thereof; ten (10) cents for
each additional two-fifths (2/5) mile or fraotion thereof; ten
(10) oents for each two minutes waiting time, twenty-five (25)
cents for eaoh additional passenger over one and a dismissal

charge of One Dollar ($l.OO) for each ten Wiles or fraction
thereof outside and beyond the City limits of the City of
Arcadia.
No rate shall be placed in effect, charged, demanded or
collected for service of an automobile for hire until the
City Council shall have approved and established said rate.
The City Council shall have power, upon a hearing upon its
own motion or upon complaint, to investigate a single rate
or fare, or the entire schedule of rates in effect and to
establish a new rate or schedule of rates, in lieu thereof."
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Ordinance and prior to the expiration of fifteen (15) days
from the passage thereof shall cause the same to be published once
in the Arcadia Bulletin, a newspaper of general circulation, pub-
lished and circulated in the City of Arcadia.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Ordinance was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia
held on the 2nd day of January, 1951, by the affirmative vote of at
least three Councilmen, to wit:
