to keep or maintsin any animal or anirrBls, other than
household pets, rabbits, poultry and domestic fowls, with-
in 100 feet of any residence or dwelling house in use or
occupied by any human beins, other than the residence or
dwelling house of the person keeping or maintaining such

animal or animals, or within 75 feet of any public street
or sidewalk in said city.
Cd) It shall be unlawful to keep any
hog, swine, boorjpig or shoat anywhere within the City
of Arcadia. II
Section 2. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an urgency
measure, required for the immediate preservation of the publiC
peace, health and safety in and of the City of Arcadia and of the
inhabitants thereof, and shall be in effect immediately after its
passage. The following is a statement of facts constituting the
urgency: To require the removal of existing ranch facilities by
the construction or occupancy of a new dwelling within 35 feet of
preexisting ranches will cause great inconvenience, hardship,
financial loss and suffering to numerous persons in the City of
Arcadia who cannot otherwise remedy the situation, whereas adjoin-
ing owners have it within their power to minimize the situation
without serious loss on their part.
Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of
this Ordinance, and prior to the expiration of 15 days from the
passage thereof shall cause the same to be published once in the
Arcadia Bulletin, a newspaper of general circulation, published
and circulated in the City of Arcadia.
I hereby certify that the foregoing Ordinance was adopted at
a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, held
on the 7th day 0~u@U~,1951, by the affirmative vote of. at least
three councilmen, to-wit:
AYES: Councilmen Kennett, Nottingham, Schmocker and Sullivan
NOES: None
ABSENT: Councilman Klomp
