HomeMy WebLinkAbout4260 RESOLUTION NO. 4260 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA AUTHORIZING THE DESTRUCTION OF CERTAIN POLICE DEPARTMENT RECORDS. WHEREAS, the Police Department has accumulated police reports dated from November 9, 1930, to the present; and WHEREAS, all of said reports which are more than five (5) years old serve no useful purpose and may be destroyed pursuant to Government Code Section 34090; and WHEREAS, the Police Department maintains, and proposes to maintain on a permanent basis, jail booking records, booking disposition reports, and master index cards showing the names of 'all felony suspects, felony victims and persons arrested; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Chief of Police is authorized to destroy all police reports dated on or before December 31, 1966, excluding jail booking records, booking disposi- tion reports, and master index cards which show the names of felony suspects, felony victims and persons arrested.. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia held on the 16th day of May , 1972, by the affirmative vote of at least three Councilmen, to wit: AYES: Councilmen Arth, Helms, Scott and Hage NOES: None ABSENT: Councilman SIGNED AND APPROVED this ~d ity Clerk (SEAL) , 1972. rcadia 4260
