HomeMy WebLinkAbout5166 RESOLUTION NO. 5166 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA COMMENDING JACK DAVID FRY WHEREAS, Jack David Fry resides at 231 Camino Real in the City of Arcadia; and WHEREAS, he attended Arcadia schools, graduating from Arcadia High School in 1978, and from Pasadena City College in 1980; and WHEREAS, he was employed by Arcadia/Monrovia Ambulance while attending Pasadena City College; and WHEREAS, in 1980 he began his employment with the City of Los Angeles Fire Department as a Paramedic Trainee and graduated from Harbor- U.C.L.A. Paramedic School in December, 1981, and has been assigned to various fire stations within the City of Los Angeles; and WHEREAS, on Friday, February 24, 1984, a bizarre nightmare occurred at the 49th Street Elementary School in Los Angeles, when a deranged gunman opened fire on innocent children at the school, resulting in one death and thirteen injuries; and WHEREAS, in the midst of pandemonium, danger and threat of death, Jack Fry l'isked his life to pull injured children from the sniper's path: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Arcadia, that Jack David Fry is to be commended for his exemplary action and his unselfish bravery. -.
