HomeMy WebLinkAbout5922 RESOLUTION NO. 5922 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA ESTABLISHING "NO STOPPING ANYTIME" REGULATIONS ALONG THE SOUTH SIDE OF DURATE ROAD FROM SANTA ANITA AVENUE TO A DISTANCE APPROXIMATELY 800 FEET WEST OF SANTA ANITA AVENUE AND ESTABLISHING A TWO-WAY LEFT-TURN LANE WITHIN SAID DISTANCE WHEREAS, planned resurfacing is offering an opportunity to restripe Duarte Road west of Santa Anita Avenue to create left turn storage la.nes; and WHEREAS, the City Traffic Engineer has recommended that these left turn lanes be installed following the planned resurfacing; and WHEREAS, parking (stopping) at the south curb of Duarte Road in the area being considered for restriping cannot be accommodated under the proposed restriping plan; and WHEREAS, section 22507 of the California Vehicle Code authorizes loca.l agencies by Resolution to restrict parking on streets under their jurisdiction; now NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Therefore be it resolved that the City Council of the city of Arcadia hereby establishes "No Stopping Anytime" regulations on the south side of Duarte Road between Santa Anita Avenue and a point about 800 feet west of Santa Anita Avenue for the purpose of accommodating left turn lanes for driveways serving the City Library and the adjacent Masonic Lodge. -1- SECTION 2.
