HomeMy WebLinkAbout4866 V" RESOLUTION NO. 4866 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA ORDERING THE ANNEXATION TO AND DETACHMENT OF CERTAIN LANDS FROM THE ARCADIA CONSOLIDATED LIGHTING DISTRICT (ANNEXATION NO.9) WHEREAS, on November 2, 1979 there was filed with the City Clerk a report of the City Engineer made pursuant to the Street Lighting Act of 1919, Section 18000, et seq., of the Streets and Highways Code, which report contains a map of the lands which are proposed to be detached from existing zones and to b~ annexed to Arcadia Consolidated Lighting District, and the particular zones into which said lands are to be incorporated, and a statement of the nature and extent of the proposed improvement, and the estimated cost thereof; and WHEREAS, on December 4, 1979, the City Council duly held a public hearing for the purpose of hearing protests to the annexation to and detachment of said lands from said lighting district and the proposed improvement; and WHEREAS, no protests were Dresented hy persons having an interest in the land involved questioning the need for such detach- ment and annexation; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Said report of the City Engineer dated November 6, 1979, on file in the office of the City Clerk, is approved and adopted, the protests are overruled ~nd the proposed assessment as set forth in said report is hereby confirmed and it is hereby ordered that said improvements be made and that the levying and collection of assess- ments shall be done in accordance with the Alternative Procedure ,for - 1 - 4866 levying and Collecting Assessments on an Ad Valorem Basis as set forth in Chapter 8.5 of the Street Lighting Act of 1919. Said lands are hereby annexed to the Arcadia Consolidated Lighting District and are incorporated into said zones of said light- ing district, and detachments are hereby made from Zone B as shown on a map consisting of twelve sheets, which map is a part of said engineer's report and is hereby incorporated herein by reference. The improvement con'sists 0(. furnishing and maintaining electric lighting for said lands, a part of which are in Zones A and B, as follows: Zone 20000 Lumen Merc. Vapor 5 A B -, 3500 Lumen Merc. Vapor 7000 Lumen Merc. Vapor 47 11 Total Number of Lights as Proposed: Install 63 Power and maintenance costs for street lighting including estimated cost adjustments, were used to calculate the estimated coats for each of the annexation areas for the next fiscal year and are itemized as follows: Item gnergy & maintenance cost gstimated engineering, publication & posting Costs (1) State Board of Equaliza- tion Charges (1) Subtotal: % of Cost to District Cost to District Total Cost to City: - 2 - Zone A $756.00 Zone B $4,402.00 10.00 170.00 35.00 570.00 801.00 5,142.00 60% 50% 480.60 2,571.00 320.40 2,571.00 4866 Forty percent of the costs of Zone A, $320.40, and fifty percent of the costs of Zone B, $2,571.00, shall be borne by the City and shall be paid from the General Fund. The estimated costs to be borne by each zone shall be paid by special assessment taxes levied upon all lands, exclusive of improvements, within each zone. The improvement (operation and maintenance) of the street lighting system on said lands shall be for a period commencing July 1, 1980 and ending June 30, 1990. SECTION 2. this resolution.
