HomeMy WebLinkAbout5109 u RESOLUTION No. 5109 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA ESTABLISHING COMPENSATION FOR VARIOUS POSITIONS IN MANAGEMENT FOR THE FISCAL YEARS 1983-84 AND 1984-85 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Effective June 26, 1983, the Salary Schedule shall be improved by 5% for Management classifications shown on Attachment A, except as otherwise provided in Section 2 below. The City shall continue to provide as Deferred Compensation a set dollar amount to be paid toward the Management employees' contribution to the Public Employee's Retirement System. Effective June 26, 1983, the set dollar amount to be paid as Deferred Compensation shall be an amount equal to. 6% of the June 26, 1983 Salary Schedule rate for each employee. SECTION 2. The City Manager shall receive a lump-sum bonus of five percent of the annual salary as established by Section 1 of this resolution in addition to the salary increase as set forth in Section 1. The fOllowing Salary Schedule rates shall apply effective June 26, 1983 to those classifications set forth as follows: Associate Planner $2,188 - $2,660 Principal Librarian 1,946 - 2,365 Production Supervisor 2,077 - 2,524 Superintendent of General Services 2,478 - 3,012 Water Field Supervisor 2,478 - 3,012 -1- 5109 SECTION 3. Effective June 24, 1984, the Salary Schedule shall be improved by 6% for Management classifications shown on Attachment A. The City shall continue to provide as Deferred Compensation a set dollar amount to be paid toward the Management employees' contribution to the Public Employee's Retirement System. Effective June 24, 1984, the set dollar amount to be paid as Deferred Compensation shall be an amount equal to 6% of the June 24, 1984 Salary Schedule rate for each employee. SECTION 4. Management Leave. Management employees shall be provided seven days management leave time per fiscal year. Such leave time is nonaccumulable and if not used within the fiscal year, cannot be carried forward nor will compensation be paid in lieu thereof under any circumstances. SECTION 5. Medical Insurance. The City shall provide paid employee and dependent medical insurance coverage or at the discretion of the employee, a dollar amount equal to sueh dependent coverage paid into the employee's account in the City's deferred compensation plan. SECTION 6. Dental Insurance. The City shall provide employee only dental coverage with the "schedule" equal to current fees and pay 100% of sehedule from time of enrollment. SECTION 7. Life Insurance. Management employees shall be provided term life insurance equal to their annual salary rounded off to the nearest (next lowest) one thousand dollars. The City shall provide a $10,000 term life insurance plan to -2- 5109 retirees who retire after July 1, 1979, but who were hired into a management classification prior to September 21, 1982, in accordance with the controlling provisions of the plan. SECTION 8. Disability Income Insurance. Management employees shall be provided disability income insurance in accordance with the controlling provisions of the plan. SECTION 9. Vacation. A. Vacation Usage. Management employees as listed in attachment A shall take a minimum of 50% of their vacation days earned during the calendar year prior to the end of that calendar year. B. Maximum Vacation Accrual. Management employees shall be allowed to accumulate the remaining 50% of their vacation time up Ito the following maximums: Safety Management - 44 days (352 hours, for employees assigned to a 56 hour shift schedule) Non-Safety Management - 40 days (320 hours) Any management employee who terminates their employment with the City, shall forfeit any hours of accumulated vacation in exeess of the maximum allowed by this section. C. Maximum Vacation Accrual. Management employees whose accrued vacation as of October 30, 1982 (Attachment B), exceeded the maximum listed in Subsection B, shall be allowed to maintain those hours, as of October 30, 1982, as their maximum -3- 5109 accumulation. Any management employee, in this category, who terminates their employment with the City, shall forfeit any hours of accumulated vacation in excess of the maximum allowed by this section. D. vacation Accrual. Vacation hours, in excess of the maximum accumulation listed in Subsection B or Subsection C, shall be used prior to December 31 of each year. Any vacation hours in excess of the maximum accumulation shall be forfeited at that time. E. vacation Sell-Back. Management employees may sell back a maximum of ten (10) days vacation per calendar year, provided that the employee takes an equal amount of vacation leave during that year. Management employees whose accrued vacation is covered by Subsection C may in addition to the above, sell back vacation days up to the number of days between their accrual and the maximum accrual in Subsection B. However, if any additional vacation days are sold, the remaining accumulation level shall thereafter be the maximum accrual level for that employee. SECTION 10. Sick Leave. Management employees shall be allowed unlimited accumulation of sick leave. -4- 5109 SECTION 11. All Management employees, as shown on Attachment A, shall receive the above Management Benefits as granted by the City Council in lieu of pay for any overtime worked. SECTION 12. The Management Benefits specified in Sections 5, 6, 7, and 8 shall apply to the City Clerk. SECTION 13. This Resolution shall become effective June 26, 1983. SECTION 14. That the Clerk of the Council shall certify to the adoption of this resolution.
