RESOLUTION NO. 5133
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA
CHANGING THE FEES FOR BUILDING CODE VARIANCES, BUILDING
PERMITS, GRADING PLAN CHECKING, GRADING PERMITS,
PLUMBING PERMITS, PLUMBING PLAN CHECKING, ELECTRICAL
PERMITS, MECHANICAL PERMITS, MECHANICAL PLAN CHECKING,
MOVE EXAMINATION, RELOCATION PERMIT, REMOVAL PERMIT,
DEMOLITION PERMIT, SIGN PERMIT AND SWIMMING POOL
PERMIT, AND REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 5052.
The City Council of the City of Arcadia does hereby resolve, find and
determine as follows:
SECTION 1. That the fees set forth in this resolution are necessary
for the purpose of defraying the City of Arcadia's expenditures and costs for
the purposes set forth in this resolution.
SECTION 2. Pursuant to Section B040 of the Arcadia Municipal Code, the
fee for filing an application for a variance to the Codes shall be $114.15.
SECTION 3. Pursuant to Section 8130.5 of the Arcadia Municipal Code,
the fee for filing an application for a building permit shall be as set forth
in the following schedule:

SECTION 5. Pursuant to Section 8130.26(b) of the Arcadia Municipal

PLUMBING PLAN CHECKING FEES
For plumbing plans which require plan checking,
a plan checking fee equal to 65$ of the plumbing
pennit fee shall be paid to the Building Official
at the time plans are submitted for plan check.
SECTION 7. Pursuant to Subsection 92-4 of Part III of Section 8330 of
the Arcadia Municipal Code the fee for filing an application for an electrical
permit shall be as set forth in the following schedule.

ELECTRICAL PLAN CHECKING FEES
When service switch size exceeds 400 amps or 300
volts or when connected load exceeds 400 amps, a
plan checking fee equal to 65% of the electrical
permit fee shall ber paid to the Building Official
at the time plans are submitted for plan check.
ANNUAL ELECTRICAL MAINTENANCE PERMIT
$4 2.70
NOTE: Maintenance permits are only issued to manu-
facturing plans, commercial establishments, hospitals
and similar occupancies having duly licensed journeymen
electricians as permanent employees.
This annual permit does not absolve the organization
from any fees, inspections or other requirements of this
Code as pertains to electrical installations.
SECTION 8. Pursuant to Section 8432 of the Arcadia Municipal Code the
fee for flling an application for a mechanical permit shall be as set forth in

MECHANICAL PLAN CHECKING FEES
For mechanical plans which require plan checking,
a plan checking fee equal to 65t of the mechanical
permit fee shall be paid to the Building Official at
the time plans are submitted for plan check.

SECTION 9. Pursuant to Section 8632.4 of the Arcadia Municipal Code
the fee for filing an application for a move examination shall be seven dollars
and sixty cents ($7.60) for each one hundred (100) square feet or fraction
thereof of floor space, whether usable or not, contained within the building
proposed to be relocated.
SECTION 10. Pursuant to Section 8633 of the Arcadia Municipal Code the
fee for filing an application for a relocation permit shall be $12.25 per one
thousand dollars ($1,000.00) valuation, or fraction thereof, of the building to
be relocated. For the purpose of computing such fee, valuation shall include
the reasonable cost of moving such structure and the reasonable value of all
new construction, alterations, additions, repairs, replacements and foundations
in connection therewith.
SECTION 11. Pursuant to Section 8642 of the Arcadia Municipal Code the
fee for filing an application for a removal permit shall be $160.20.
SECTION 12. Pursuant to Section 8652 of the Arcadia Municipal Code the
fee for filing an application for a demolition permit shall be as set forth in
the following schedule:

SECTION 13. Pursuant to Section 8712 of the Arcadia Municipal Code the
fee for flllng an application for a sign permit shall be the same as required
for a building of equivalent valuation and shall also include a plan check fee
which shall be 50 percent of the permit fee.
SECTION 14. Pursuant to Section 8742 of the Arcadia Municipal Code the
fee for filing an application for a swimming pool permit shall be the same as
required for a building of equivalent valuation. The valuation shall be
calculated at the rate of $129.75 per perimeter foot of the swimming pool
and/or spa.

SECTION 15. This Resolution shall become effective November 7, 1983.
SECTION 16. Neither the adoption of this resolution nor the repeal
hereby of any resolution shall in any manner be construed as affecting any such
fee, nor to affect the validity of any bond or cash deposit in lieu thereof,
posted, filed or deposited therefor and all rights and obligations thereunder
appertaining shall continue in full force and effect.
SECTION 17. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or
portion of this resolution is, for any reason, held to be invalid or
unconstitutional by the decision of any court or competent jurisdiction, such
decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions of this
resolution. The City Council of the City of Arcadia hereby declares that it
would have adopted this resolution and each section, subsection, sentence,
clause, phrase or portion thereof irrespective of the fact that anyone or more
sections, subsections, sentences, clauses, phrases or portions be declared
invalid or unconstitutional.
SECTION 18. lhe City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
resol ution.
SECTION 19. The City Council hereby finds that the fees specified in
this resolution will not produce an amount in excess of that estimated to fund
the operation of the City of Arcadia Building ~ivision. Based on the
foregoing, the City Council hereby finds this resolution is exempt from the
requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act as specified in Title
14 Section 15079.1 of the California Administrative Code.
