HomeMy WebLinkAbout5141 G) RESOLUTION NO. 5141 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA SETTING THE SERVICE RATES FOR THE COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL OF RESIDENTIAL REFUSE WITHIN THE CITY OF ARCADIA THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA OOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1; Article V, Chapter 1, Part 2, of the Arcadia Municipal Code authorizes the Arcadia City Council to enter into a contract for the collection or gathering and removal of garbage or refuse from residential properties located in the City of Arcadia. SECTION 2. That the CITY OF ARCADIA, a municipal corporation, hereinafter referred to as CITY, and BEST DISPOSAL COMPANY, hereinafter referred to as CONTRACTOR, have entered into the Residential Refuse Agreement on the 16th day of Novembe-r, r9B-3. SECTION 3" That Article V. Chapter 1" Part 2.7 of the Arcadia Municipal Code authorizes the Arcadia City Council to fix and determine the uniform rates that may be charged by any person for the collecting, or removing of garbage or refuse from any premises in the City. SECTION 4. That Section F of the Residential Refuse Agreement authorizes the Arcadia City Council to fix and determine uniform rates that shall be charged and collected by the Contractor for the collection, removal and disposal of residential refuse. SECTION 5. That the Contractor shall not charge or collect any fees or rates other than the fees and rates set forth in this Resolution and that the fees and rates set forth shall remain in effect for the full term of the Agreement unless changed by a Resolution of the City Council of the City of Arcadia. -1- SECTION 6. That the monthly rates and fees for the collection, removal and disposal of residential refuse and garbage shall be as follows: SINGLE-FAMILY SERVICE RATES 1. SINGLE-FAMILY DWELLINGS - CAN SERVICE For the regularly scheduled pickup once a week from curb or alley of residential refuse in unlimited quantities, including but not limited to all large objects such as couches, refrigerators, rugs, water heaters, washing machines and other such large items: Ma rch 1, 1984 $5.05 March 1, 1985 $5.05 March 1, 1986 $5.05 March 1, 1987 $5.45 March 1, 1988 $5.73 (a) Senior Citizen Rates - 62 years or older. Application and proof of age are required. Proof of age shall be determined by submission of birth certificate or valid California Drivers License.
