HomeMy WebLinkAbout5142 RESOLUTION NO. 5142 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA ORDERING THE ANNEXATION TO THE ARCADIA CONSOLIDATED LIGHTING DISTRICT (ANNEXATION NO. 12) WHEREAS, on September 26, 1983 there was filed with the City Clerk a report of the City Engineer made pursuant to the Street Lighting Act of 1919, Section 18000, et seq., of the Streets and Highways Code, which report contains a map of the lands which are proposed to be detached from existing zones and to be annexed to Arcadia Consolidated Lighting District, and the particular zones into which said lands are to be incorporated, and a statement of the nature and extent of the proposed improvement, and the estimated cost thereof; and WHEREAS, on November 15, 1983 the City Council duly held a public hearing for the purpose of hearing protests to the annex- ation to and detachment of said lands from said lighting district and the proposed improvement; and WHEREAS, no protests were presented by persons having an interest in the land involved questioning the need for such annex- ation. NOW, THEREFORE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Said report of the City Engineer dated September 26, 1983, on file in the office of the City Clerk, is approved and adopted, the protests, if any, are overruled and the proposed assessment as set forth in said report is hereby confirmed and it is hereby ordered that said improvements be made and that the levying and collection of assessments shall be done in accord- ance with the Alternative Procedure for Levying and Collecting Assessments on an Ad Valorem Basis as set forth in Chapter 8.5 of the Street Lighting Act of 1919. Said lands are hereby annexed to the Arcadia Consolidated Lighting District and are incorporated into said zones of said lighting district, as shown on a map consisting of six sheets, which map is a part of said engineer's report and is hereby incor- porated herein by reference. The improvement consists of furnishing and maintaining electric lighting for said lands, which are in Zone B, as follows: Zone 4000 Lumen Sodium Vapor B 32 Total Number of Lights as Proposed: Install 32 Power and maintenance costs for street lighting includ- ing estimated cost adjustments, were used to calculate the esti- mated costs for each of the annexation areas for the next fiscal year and are itemized as follows: Item Zone B Energy & maintenance cost $3,091.20 Estimated engineering, publication & posting costs (l) 70.00 State Board of Equalization Charges (ll 760.00 Subtotal: 3,921.20 50% % of Cost to District Cost to District 1,960.60 Total Cost to City: $l,960.60 Fifty percent of the costs of Zone B, $1,960.60, shall be borne by the City and shall be paid from the General Fund. The estimated costs to be borne by each zone shall be paid by special assessment taxes levied upon all lands, exclusive of improvements, within each zone. -2- 5142 The improvement (operation and maintenance) of the street lighting system on said lands shall be for a period com- mencing July 1, 1984 and ending June 30, 1990. SECTION 2. That the Clerk of the Council shall certify to the adoption of this resolution.
