RESOLUTION NO. 502 IN THE MATTER OF AC~UISITION AND IMPROVEMENT DISTRIOT NO. 2 OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA IN THE MATTER OF AC~UISITION AND IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 3 OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA IN THE MATTER OF ACQUISITION AND IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT NO. 4 OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA. RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EMPLOYMENT OF SPECIAL COUNSEL. . . . . VffiEREAS, the City of Arcadia proposes to,initiate and conduct proceedings for the acquisition and improvement of certain highways consisting of the opening, extending and improving of Huntington Drive, Colorado Street and Orange Avenue and portions of other streets within said city under the provisions of an act of the legislature designated as the flAcquisition and Improvement Act of 1925", as amendedG and ~REAS, said proceedings contemplate the acquisition of certain rights-of-way; overtures have been made ~~ the said City of Arcadia to grant those certain rights of way proposed to be acquired, thus eliminating the necessity of instituting the aforesaid proceedings; and WHEREAS, the said city desires to appoint and employ LESLIE R. TARR as attorney to negotiate for the said rights-of-way, and in the event said rights-of-way are not granted to said city, to prepare proceedings for the acquisitions and improvements above mentioned. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 ,<C ~ - - NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the ,City Council of the City of Arcadia that the said LESLIE R. TARR be, and he is hereby appointed and employed to enter into negotiations with a view of having rights-of-way for Huntington Drive, Colorado Street and Orange Avenue and portions of other streets within said city deeded to said City of Arcadia; that the compensation for such services shall be, and the same is hereby fixed at the sum of Fifty Dollars ($50.00) per diem for each and every day engaged in said negotiations. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that in the event the property owners are unwilling to grant the aforesaid easements, said LESLIE R. TARR shall be appointed and employed as attorney to prepare proceedings in the above matters.
