RESOLUTION OF INTENTION
NO. 539.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA
DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO IMPROVE A PORTION OF FANO STREET IN
SAID CITY OF ARCADIA AND DECLARING SAID WORK OR IMPROVEMENT TO BE
OF MORE THAN LOCAL OR ORDINARY PUBLIC BENEFIT AND DESCRIBING THE
DISTRICT TO BE BENEFITED BY SAID WORK OR IMPROVEMENT AND TO BE AS-
SESSED TO PAY THE COSTS AND EXPENSES THEREOF AND DETERMINING THAT
SERIAL BONDS SHALL BE ISSUED TO REPRESENT SAID COSTS AND EXPENSES
AND FIXING A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING OBJECTIONS TO SAID WORK OR
IMPROVEMENT OR TO THE EXTENT OF THE DISTRICT TO BE ASSESSED OR BOT
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DO RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That the Dublic interest and convenience re-
quire and it is the intention of the City Council of said City
Arcadia to order the following work and improvement to be done
said City of Arcadia, to-wit:
FIRST: That a cement sidewalk five (5) feet in width be

constructed on each side of Fano Street from the Westerly line of
Second Avenue to the Easterly line of First Avenue, in said City
of Arcadia, including intersecting returns at Fano Street and Sec-
ond Avenue and also at Fano Street and First Avenue,
SECOND: That a concrete curb be constructed in said
portion of Fano Street along a line twelve (12) feet Southerly of
and parallel to the Northerly line of said Fano Street and also
along a line twelve (12) feet Northerly of and parallel to the
Southerly line of said Fano Street.

THIRD: That a cement gutter be constructed in the North- I
erly and Southerly sides of said portion of Fano Street.

of this Resolution and are hereby referred to for a more particu-
lar description of said work.
All Streets and Avenues referred to in this Resolution
are Public Streets and Avenues in said City of Arcadia.
SECTION 4: That said contemplated work and improvement
in the opinion of the City Council of said City of Arcadia is of
more than local or ordinary public benefit and said City Council

territory included in the proposed Assessment District is on file
in the office of said City Engineer. Reference is hereby made to
the said Plat or Map for a further, full and complete description
of said Assessment District. The said Plat or Map. so on file
shall govern for all details as to the extent of such Assessment
District.
SECTION 5: Said City Council also determines and de-
clares that Serial Bonds shall be issued to represent each assess-
ment of Twenty-five ($25.00) Dollars or more remaining unpaid for
thirty (30) days after the date of the Warrant to represent the
expenses of said work and improvement. Said Serial Bonds shall
extend over a period ending nine (9) years from the second day
of January next succeeding the fifteenth day of the next November
following their date and an even annual proportion of the princi-
pal sum thereof shall be payable by coupon on the second day of
January every year after the fifteenth day of the next November
fomlowing their date, until the whole is paid, and the interest
shall be payable semi-annually by coupon on the second days of
January and July, respectively of each year after their date at
the rate of seven (7) per cent per annum on all sums unpaid until I
the whole of said principal and interest are paid, Said bonds I
and interest thereon shall be paid at the office of the Ci ty Treasl-
urer of said City of Arcadia,
SECTION 6: Notice is hereby given that on Wednesday,
the fifth day of February, 1930, at the hour of

sons having any objections to said proposed work or improvement-
or to the extent of the District to be assessed, or both, may
appear before said City Council and show cause why said proposed
work or improvement should not be carried out in accordance with
this Resolution.

SECTION 7: All of the proceedings for the aforesaid work
and improvement and for the issuance of said bonds shall be had
and taken under and in accordance with the provisions of an Act
of the Legislature of the State of California, known and designate
as the "Improvement Act of 1911", approved April 7, 1911, and of
all Acts supplementary thereto or amendatory thereof,
SECTION 8: The Superintendent of Streets shall post or
cause to be posted, conspicuously along the line of said contem-
plated work or improvemen~ and also along all the open Streets
within the District liable to be assessed and hereinabove describe1'
notices of the passage of this Resolution in the manner and form I
required by law,
SECTION 9: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage
of this Resolution and shall cause the same to be published twice
in The Arcadia News, a weekly newspaper published and circulated
in said City of Arcadia and hereby designated for that purpose.
Said City Council does not deem it advisable that the City Clerk
mail copies of "Notice of Improvement" to the owners or reputed
owners of property within the said Assessment District and the
mailing of such notices is hereby dispensed with.
The foregoing Resolution was adopted at a regular meeting
of the City Oouncil of the City of Arcadia, held on the 15th. day
of January, 1930, by the affirmative vote of at least three Coun-
cilmen, to -wi t :
AYES: Councilmen: Bolz, Granville, Multer, Schermerhorn
and Walshe,
NOES: None,
and signed and approved this 15th. day of January, 1930.
