RESOLUTICN OF INTENTION NO. 562.
I
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DO RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1;
That the public interest and convenience re-
quire and it is the intention of the City Council of said City
of Arcadia to order the following work or improvement to be done
in said City of Arcadia, to-wit:
That that certain portion of
HUNTINGTON DRIVE
lying Northerly and Westerly of the Pacific Electric Railway
Company I s Right of Way and between the WesterlY line of said Pac-I
ific Electric Railway Company's Right of Way and the Westerly
City Boundary Line of said City of Arcadia, be improved by cer-
tain grading and by the construction of certain asphaltic con-
crete pavement, cement concrete curbs, cement concrete gutters
and certain guard posts;
."
That a double reinforced concrete culvert, together with
headwalls, retaining walls, pipe guard rail and appurtenances
be constructed across said Huntington Drive, the center line of
said culvert intersecting the center line of said Huntington
Drive at a point 4725 ~eet Westerly from the intersection of the
center line of said Huntington Drive with the Westerly line of
santa Anita Avenue.

between the Northerly line of Huntington Drive and the Westerly
City Boundary Line of said City of Arcadia be improved by certain
grading and by the construction of certain asphaltic concrete pave-
ment, cement concrete curbs, cement concrete gutters, certain guar~
posts and redwood plank curbs;
That a corrugated iron pipe culvert, together with
concrete headwalls, be constructed across said Colorado street,
the center line of said pipe intersecting the center line of said
Colorado Street at a point 39.1g feet Easterly from the intersec-
tion of the center line of said Colorado Street with the Westerly
Boundary Line of said City of Arcadia;
That a corrugated iron pipe culvert, together with
concrete headwal1s, be constructed across said Colorado Street,
the center line of said pipe intersecting the center line of said
Colorado street at a point 539.13 feet Easterly from the intersec-
tion of the center line of said Colorado Street wi th the Westerly,

Boundary Line of said City of Arcadia;
That a corrugated iron 'pipe culvert, together with
concrete headwalls and other work, be constructed across said
Colora.do Street, the center line of. said pipe intersecting the
center line of said Colorado Street at a point 4129.1g feet East-
erly from the intersection of the center line of said Colorado
street with the Westerly Boundary Line of said City of Arcadia;
That a reinforced concrete culvert, together with head-
walls and appurtenances, be constructed across said Colorado Street,
the center line of said culvert intersecting the center line of
said Colorado Street at a point 955 feet Northwesterly from the
intersection of the center line of said Colorado Street with the J
Northwesterly line of sa.id Huntington Drive;

That a double reinforced concrete culvert, together
with concrete headwalls, pipe guard rail and appurtenances, be
constructed across said Orange Avenue, the center line of said
culvert intersecting the center line of said Orange Avenue 2245
feet Westerly from the intersection of the center line of said
Orange Avenue with the Westerly line of Santa Anita Avenue;
That a corrugated iron pipe culvert, together with
concrete headwalls, be constructed across said Orange Avenue, the
center line of said pipe intersecting the center line of said
Orange Avenue at a point 2675 feet Westerly from the intersection
of the center line of said Orange Avenue with the Westerly line
of Santa Anita Avenue.
SECTION 2:
That the grade to which the work herein-
above described sha.ll be done and the improvement made as provided
in Section 1 hereof, is that shown on Profile and Improvement Plan
No. C-l50, Sheets numbered 1 to 17, both inclusive, on file in
the office of the City Engineer of said City, to which Profile and
Improvement Plan reference is hereby made for the description of
such grade.
SECTION 3: All the foregoing work shall be done in

accordance with said Profile and Improvement Plan No. C-l50,
Sheets numbered 1 to 17, both inclusive, on file in the office of
the City Engineer of said City of Arcadia.
Said work shall also be in accordance with the fol-
lowing Specifications on file in the office of the City Clerk of
said City of Arcadia, to-wit:
IISpecial Specifications No.3 for the construction of
cement concrete curbs, cement concrete gutters, cement concrete
drainage structures, corrugated iron pipe culverts, asphaltic
concrete pavement, guard posts and redwood plank curbsll.
Said profile and Improvement Plan No. C-150, Sheets
and the
numbered I to 17, both inclusive; Special Specifications, herein- :

above referred to, were adopted by Resolution No. 560 of said
City Council and the same are hereby made a part of this Resolu-
tion and are hereby referred to for a more particular description'

of said work.
All Streets, Drives and Avenues referred to in this
Resolution are Public Streets, Drives and Avenues in said City of'
Arcadia.
SECTION 4: That said contemplated work or improve-
ment in the opinion of the City Council of said City of Arcadia
is of more than local or ordinary public benefit and said City
Council hereby determines and declares that the City of Arcadia
shall pay out of the General Fund of said City of Arcadia, the
sum of One Hundred Twenty-three Thousand, Seven Hundred and Thirty-
two ($123,732.00) Dollars towards the cost and expense of the
work or improvement to be performed and made hereunder and said
City Council hereby declares that the balance of the cost and ex- I
pense of said work or improvement shall be chargeable upon a Di6- ,
trict, which District said City Council hereby declares to be thel
District benefitted by said work and improvement and to be as-
sessed to pay the said balance of the cost and expense thereof,

and mhich District is bounded and described as follows:
Beginning at the Southwesterly corner of Lot 6, Tract
No. 949, in the City of Arcadia, County of Los Angeles, State of
California, as per Map recorded in Book 17, Page 13 of Maps, Re-
cords of said County; said point being the intersection of the
Northerly line of the Pacific Electric Railway Company's right of
way with the Westerly City Boundary line of said City of Arcadia;
thence Easterly and Northeasterly along the Southerly and South-
easterly lines of Lots 6, 5 and 1 of said Tract No. 9~9 to the
Southwesterly corner of Lot 2 of said Tract; thence Northerly
along the Westerly line of said Lot 2 to the Northwesterly corner
I
thereof; thence Northwesterly and Westerly along the Northeasterly'
and Northerly lines of Lots 1 and 6 of said Tract, to the North-
westerly corner of said Lot 6; thence Southerly along the Wester-
ly line of said Lot 6 to the point of beginning.
The above description is general only. A Plat or
Map of said District indicating by a boundary line the extent of
the territory included in the proposed Assessment District is on
file in the office of said City Engineer. Reference is hereby
made to said Plat or Map for a further, full and complete descrip~
tion of said Assessment District. The said Plat or Map so on file
shall govern for all details as to the extent of such Assessment
District.
SECTION 5: Said City Council also determines and
declares that Serial Bonds shall be issued to represent each
assessment of Twenty-five ($25.00) Dollars or more remaining un-
paid for thirty days after the date of the Warrant to represent
the expenses of said work and improvement. Said Serial Bonds shall
extend over a period ending nine (9) years from the second day
of January next succeeding the fifteenth day of the next Novemberi
following their date and an even annual proportion of the principal
sum thereof shall be payable by coupon on the second day of Jan-

uary every year after the fifteenth day of the next November fol-
lowing their date, until the whole is paid, and the interest shall
be payable semi-annually by coupon on the second days of January
and July, respectively of each year after their date at the rate
of seven (7) per cent per annum on all sums unpaid, until the
whole of said principal and interest are paid. Payments upon the
principal of unpaid assessments and interest shall be made by
the property owners to the City Treasurer and the same shall be
disbursed by said City Treasurer, all as provided in said Improve~
ment Act of 1911.
SECTION 6: Notice is hereby given that on Wednesday,
the Eighteenth (lSth), day of June, 1930, at the hour of eight
o'clock P. M. of said day, in the Council Chamber of the City
Council of said Ci ty of Arcadia, in the City Hall of said Ci ty,
any and all persons baving any objections to said proposed work
or improvement, or to the extent of the District to be assessed,
or both, may appear before said City Council and show cause why
said proposed work or improvement should not be carried out in
accordance with this Resolution.
SECTION 7: All of the proceedings for the aforesaid
work and improvement and for the issuance of said bonds shall be
had and takenunder and in accordance wi th the provi siens of an
Act of the Legislature of the State of California, known and
designated as the "Improvement Act of 191111, approved April 7,
19l1, and of all Acts supplementary thereto or amendatory thereof.
SECTION 8: The Superintendent of Streets shall post
or cause to be posted, conspicuously along the line of said con-
templated work or improvement and also along all the open Streets
within the District liable to be assessed and hereinabove de-
scribed, 'notices of the passage of this Resolution in the manner
and form required by law,
SECTION 9: The City Clerk shall certify to the pas-

twice in The Arcadia News, a weekly newspaper published and cir-
culated in said Ci ty of Arcadia and hereby designated for that
purpose. Said City Council does not deem it advisable that the
C1 ty Clerk mail copies of "Notice of Improvement II to the owners

and the mailing of such notices is hereby dispensed with.

The foregoing Resolution was adopted at a regular
meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia, held on the
21st. day of May, 1930, by the affirmative vote of at least three
Councilmen, to-wit:
