.A RESOLl.;l'!ON OF THE ~ ITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA
DETERMINING THE r!ATURE, LOCATIOl~ AND EXTENT OF THE PROPOSED CON-
STRUCTION OF CONGR;J:TE GUT'):'ERS U<D STREET PAVING TO BE DONE AND THE
CONSTRUCTION OF AN ORNM,ffiNTAL LIGHTING SYSTE~ yITTH APPURTENANCE~
IN A PORTION OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, DEFINING THE BOUNDARIES OR
EXTENT OF THE DISTRICT OR LlUmS TO BE SPECIALLY ASSESSED TO PAY
THE COST THEREOF AND DETEIDJINING THE STATUTE UNDER WHICH SAID PRO-
CE'EDINGS eHALL BE CONDUCTED, AND RESCIl~DIG RESOL~'TION NO. 961
AND RESOLUTION NJ. 966.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES RESOLVE AS
FOLLOi/S:
SECTION 1. That Resolution No. 961 adopted at a regular
meeting of the Ctty Council of the City of Arcadia, on the 21st.
day of March, 19.39, and Resolntion No. 966 of the City Council,
of the City of .!b'cadia adopted at a regular meeting of said coun-
cil on the 4th. day of April, 1939, be and the same are hereby
rescinded.
SECTION 2. That the pUblic interest, convenience and
necessity requira that concrete gutters be constructed, that cer-
tain street paving be done, and that an ornamental lighting system
with appurtenancl3s be constructed upon and along a portion of
Floral Avenue and Forest Avenue in said City.
SECTION-:S. That pursuant to the provisions of an Act of
the LeGislature of the State of California desi~nated as the
lI~pecial Investigation, Limitation and Majority Protest Act of 1931"'.
as amended, it i:l hereby dete:'l1l1ned t11at t1-Je nature, location and
extent of the pr(>posed concrete ,3utters, street paving and orna-
mental lighting Ilystem shall be in accordance with the plans and
specifications bnretofore prepared by the City Engineer of the City
of Arcadia, said plans being desi nated as Plans No. C-156, Sheets
1 and 2, which el'e on the 21st. day of March, 1939, filed with the
Clerk of this COlmcil, and reference is hereby made to said plans
and specifications so filed for
all particulars relative to the
nature, location and extent of said proposed improvements, and it
is hereby ordered that said plans and specifications be made open
to the inspection of any person or ~rsons desiring to inspect the
same.

SECTION~ That the boundaries of the District to be
specially assessed to pay a portion of the cost of 'said improve-
ment is descrlbed as follows:
All that portion of the said City of Arcadia, County
of Los Angeles, State of California, included within
the followins described exterior lines, to-wit:
Beginning at the interspction of the center line of
Santa Anita Avenue and the Westerly prolongation of
the Northerly line of Tract No. 7820, as shown on map
recorded in Book 83, Page 30 of Maps, records of said
Los AnGeles County; thence Easterly along said pro-
longation and alone the Northerly line of said Tract
No. 7820 and it's Easterly prolongation to it's inter-
section with the center line of First Avenue; thence
Southerly along the center line ,of First Avenue to it's
intersection with the Easterly prolon'?ation of the
Southerly line of said Tract No. 7820; thence r/esterly
along said prolongation and along the Southerly line of
said Tract No. 7820 and it's Westerly prolongation to
it's intersection with the center line of Santa Anita
Avenue; thence Northerly along said center Hne of
Santa An ',ta Avenue to the point of bec~,nning.
The foregoing description is general only. A plat or Map
of said District indicating by a boundarY line t~e extent of the
lands includedin the proposed assessment district is on file in
the office of the City Engineer of the City of Arcadia. Reference
is hereby made to said Plat or Map for a further, full and complete
description of said Assessment District, Which said Plat or Map
is designated &s Assessment District IT-28, and said Map so on file
shallgovern for allJdetails as to the extent of such Assessment
District.
SECTIO~~ It is hereby determined that the proposed
improvement ancl all ~roceedings for the issuance and payment of
Street Improvement Bonds re1;lresenting assessments for the cost
thereof, and pI'ovisions for all other acts necessary to conduct
the proposed pI'ocsedings shall be c,:mducted under the provisions
of an Act of the Legislature of the State of California designated
as the "ImprovElment Act of 1911", approved 1911, as 8lllended.
SECTIOlL...h The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this Resolution:
