HomeMy WebLinkAbout5054 RESOLUTION NO. 5054 JOINT RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA APPROVING AND ACCEPTING NEGOTIATED EXCHANGE OF PROPERTY TAX REVENUES RESULTING FROM ANNEXATION OF UNINCOR- PORATED TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF ARCADIA-- "ANNEXATION NO. 47" WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 99 of the Revenue and Taxation Code, prior to the effective date of any jurisdictional change the governing bodies of all agencies whose service areas or service responsibilities would be altered by such change must determine the amount of property tax revenues to be exchanged between the affected agencies and approve and accept the negotiated exchange of property tax revenues by resolution: but if the affected agency is a special district, the Board of Supervisors must nego- tiate on behalf of the district: and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles and the City Council of the City of Arcadia have determined that the amount of property tax revenue to be exchanged between their respec- tive agencies as a result of the annexation of unincorporated territory to the City of Arcadia identified as "Annexation 47" is as set forth below. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED as follows: 1. The negotiated exchange of property tax revenues between the County of Los Angeles and the City of Arcadia resulting from "/ unincorporated territory to the City of Arcadia the annexation of in the annexation entitled "Annexation 47" is approved and accepted. -l- 5054 J ( 2. For fiscal years commencing on and after July 1, 1983, or after the effective date of this jurisdictional change,. which- ever is later, property tax revenue in the amount of One Thousand Five Hundred Twenty-Four Dollars ($1,524) is ordered transferred from the County of Los Angeles to the City of Arcadia. In addition, for each fiscal year commencing on and after July 1, 1983, or after the effective date of this jurisdictional change, whichever is later, Sixteen and Six-Tenths Percent (16.6%) of Los Angeles County's current countywide average share of the incremental tax growth attributable to the "Annexation 47" area shall be transferred to the City of Arcadia. 3. For fiscal years commencing on and after July l, 1983, or after the effective date of this jurisdictional change, which- ever is later, all property tax revenue received by Consolidated Fire Protection District of Los Angeles County attributable to the "Annexation 47" area shall be transferred to the County of Los Angeles. 4. For fiscal years commencing on and after July 1, 1983, or after the effective date of this jurisdictional change, whichever is later, all property tax revenue received by Longden Lighting District attributable to the "Annexation 47" area shall be trans~ ferred to the County of Los Angeles. 5. For fiscal years commencing on and after July 1, 1983, or after the effective date of this jurisdictional change, whichever is later, all property tax revenue received by the Los Angeles County Library District, attributable to the "Annexation 47" area shall be transferred to the County of Los Angeles. -2- 5054 ~. For fiscal years commencing on and after July 1, 1983, or after the effective date of this jurisdictional change, whichever is later, all property tax revenue received by Road District 11 attributable to the "Annexation 47" area shall be transferred" to the County of Los Angeles. 7. The Consolidated Sewer Maintenance District receives no property tax revenues. Therefore, there shall be no transfer of property tax rev'enues from Consolidated Sewer Maintenance District to either the City of Arcadia or the County of Los Angeles attri- butable to the "Annexation 47" area. 8. No additional transfer of property tax revenues shall be made from a spec:ial district to the City of Arcadia as a result of this annexation. The foregCling resolution was adopted by the Board of Super- visors of the County of Los Angeles and the City Council of the City of Arcadia.
