HomeMy WebLinkAbout6189 RESOLUTION NO. 6189 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO FILE APPLICATIONS WITH THE FEDERAL TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION, AN OPERATING ADMINISTRATION OF THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION, FOR FEDERAL TRANSIT ASSISTANCE AUTHORIZED BY 49 U.S.C. CHAPTER 53, TITLE 23 UNITED STATES CODE, AND OTHER FEDERAL STATUTES ADMINISTERED BY THE FEDERAL TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION WHEREAS, the Federal Transit Administrator has been delegated authority to award Federal financial assistance for a transportation project;and WHEREAS, the grantor cooperative agreement for Federal Financial assistance will impose certain obligations upon the Applicant, and may require the Applicant to provide the local share of the project costs; and WHEREAS, the Applicant has or will provide all annual certifications and assurances to the Federal Transit Administration required for the project. NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That William R. Kelly, City Manager, is authorized to execute and file an application for Federal assistance on behalf of the City of Arcadia with the Federal Transit Administration for Federal assistance authorized by 49 U.S.C. Chapter 53, Title 23, United States Code, and other Federal statutes authorizing a project administered by the Federal Transit Administration. 6189 SECTION 2. That William R. Kelly has received authority from the Designated Recipient, Southern California Association of Governments, to apply for Urbanized Area Formula Program assistance as defined by 49 U.S.C. 5307 (a)(2). SECTION 3. That William R. Kelly, City Manager, is authorized to execute with its applications the annual certifications and assurances and other documents the Federal Transit Administration requires before awarding a Federal assistance grant or cooperative agreement. SECTION 4. That William R. Kelly, City Manager, is authorized to execute grant and cooperative agreements with the Federal Transit Administration on behalf of the City of Arcadia. SECTION 5. That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution. Passed, approved and adopted this 18th day of July 2000.
