HomeMy WebLinkAbout6196 RESOLUTION NO. 6196 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING A FEE FOR PHOTOCOPYING CITY DOCUMENTS WHEREAS, the City of Arcadia is lawfully empowered to charge a fee for the reproduction and dissemination of City documents upon request for such documents from the public; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Arcadia has determined that a fee for said services should be charged to cover the City's expenses in reproducing City documents; and WHEREAS, the City Council hereby determines that the fee referenced in this Resolution does not exceed the estimated reasonable cost of providing the service for which the fee is charged. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City Council hereby adopts the following fee for the photocopying of City documents: a. One copy of the first twenty-five (25) pages of a particular document will be provided free of charge. b. A fee of $.10 per page/image shall be charged for each page/image over twenty-five (25) of a particular document (Le. beginning with page twenty- six [26]). Using both sides of a piece of paper is considered two copies. SECTION 2. For purposes of this fee, City Council or City Commission meeting (agenda) staff reports of the same date shall be counted as one document. SECTION 3. The terms and provisions of this Resolution shall not be applicable to the production ofCity records in response to any subpoena, and the City shall have authority to charge any party who has subpoenaed such records the maximum sum permitted by law and/or by applicable court or administrative rules. 6196 SECTION 4. With the exception of police documents, which may be reproduced on a copy machine, computer printer or microfiche, for purposes of this fee, the term "photocopy" shall be defined as a copy produced in a standard size by what is generally accepted as a standard office copier, regardless of the color ink. SECTION 5. The City of Arcadia is authorized to collect the fee set forth herein. SECTION 6. This Resolution shall become effective upon its adoption and shall, as of that date, repeal all prior inconsistent Resolutions, or sections of Resolutions pertaining to a fee for copying City documents. SECTION 7. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution. Passed, approved and adopted this llthdayof October 2000.
