HomeMy WebLinkAbout4115 . ., RESOLUTION NO. ~ ~I/~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO VACATE HAVEN AVENUE BETWEEN SANTA ANITA AVENUE AND FIRST AVENUE. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES HEREBY DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Arcadia pursuant to Chapters 1, 2, and 3 of Part 3 of Division 9 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, Section 8300 et seq., does hereby declare its intention to vacate and abandon that portion of Haven Avenue located between Santa Anita Avenue and First Avenue. Said portion of Haven Avenue is located in the City of Arcadia, County of Los Angeles, State of California, and is more particularly described as follows: That portion of Haven Avenue 55 feet wide shown on ma~ of Tract No. 3112 recorded in Book 29, Page 68 of Maps in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County, lying westerly of the west line of First Avenue, 80 feet wide: provided that the City intends to and shall reserve to itself and to the electric and telephone utilities and except from said vacation a permanent easement to maintain, replace, remove, and renew lines of pipe, conduits, cables, wires, poles and other structures, equip- ment, and fixtures for the operation of pipe lines, telegraphic and telephone lines and electrical lines. Said portion of Haven Avenue is also shown on a map on City of Arcadia Sheet Map, Sheet No. 28, on file in the office of the City Clerk. Said portion of Haven Avenue is no longer required for public use because of the construction of the Foothill Freeway. -1- ~ '///..r i 'III . . SECTION 2. That March 17, 1970, at 8 o'clock p.m. in the Council Chamber of said City Council in the City Hall, 240 West Huntington Drive, Arcadia, is hereby fixed as the hour, day, and place at which any person interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation and abandonment may appear and be heard. SECTION 3. Notice of the passage of this resolution and of the aforesaid hearing shall be posted in the manner required by law. SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and shall cause the same to be published once in the Arcadia Tribune at least ten days before the date of said hearing.
