HomeMy WebLinkAbout4117 RESOLUTION NO. 5fl:t:T .<///1 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING AND CALLING FOR A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON THE 14TH DAY OF APRIL, 1970, DESIGNATING THE OFFICES TO BE FILLED AT SAID ELECTION; PROVIDING FOR THE POLLING PLACES FOR SAID ELECTION; AND APPOINTING THE ELECTION OFFICES FOR SUCH ELECTION AND FIXING THEIR COMPENSATION. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That pursuant to Section 1100 of the Arcadia City Charter, a general municipal election be and the same is hereby called to be held in the City of Arcadia, State of California, on Tuesday, the 14th day of April, 1970, for the purpose of electing the following officers to wit: Three (3) members of the City Council of said City of Arcadia to hold office for the full term or period of four (4) years from and after the 21st day of April, 1970. SECTION 2. That for the purpose of holding said election there shall be and there are hereby established precincts designated as hereinafter stated. Longden Avenue Inspector Nerma Lee Hill Judge Lillian Alpert Clerk Ada Agee Clerk Edith Jo Rowell - 5 - SECTION 3, That the polls for said election shall be opened at 7:00 o'clock a, m. on the day of said election and shall remain open continuously from said time until 7:00 o'clock p.m. of said day, when said polls shall be closed except as provided in Section 14436 of the Elections Code of the State of California. SECTION 4. That the compensation of the persons hereinabove named as election officers is hereby fixed at the sum of Twenty-One Dollars ($21.00) for each Inspector, and Eighteen Dollars ($18.00) for each Judge and Clerk, fo) said election, The rental for each of such polling places, where a charge is made, shall be the sum of Eighteen Dollars ($18.00) for said election. When required, the compensation of the Custodian of a building shall be Twelve Dollars ($12.00) for said election. SECTION 5. That said general municipal election shall be held in accordance with the provisions of the City Charter of the City of Arcadia and in accordance with the provisions of the Elections Code of the State of California pertaining to General Law Cities insofar as the same are not in conflict with said City Charter. SECTION 6. That said City Council shall meet in the Council Chamber of the Arcadia City Hall on Tuesday, April 21, 1970, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock p.m., to canvass the returns of said election and to declare the results thereof. SECTION 7. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and shall cause notice of said election, the offices to be filled and the other matters relating to said election to be given as required by the Elections Code of the State of California. - 6 - I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia held on the 3rd day of March, 1970, by the affirmative vote of at least three Councilmen, to wit: AYES: Councilmen Butterworth, Considine, Hage, Helms and Arth NOES: None ABSENT: None ~1!!:r,:e Ik~ >:&~ City Cler of the City of Arcadia ~ SIGNED AND APPROVED this -1-!dday of March, 1970.
