Miss Christine Van Maanen
City Clerk of Arcadia
P.O. Bo,t 60
Arcadia, California 91006
Dear MillS Van Maanen:
In recent months my office has received numerous
expressions of interest and concern from citizens all
over tho state with respect to possible effects of
various features of the State Water project on the
environment of the Delta-Bay area and on Southern
California. Those who take the time to write on this
subject do so with great sincerity. Unfortunately,
many have based their opinions upon information which
is often misleading and incomplete.
It is refreshing to receive a comment such as yours
which clearly reflects a thoughtful and penetrating
analysis of some of the problems which face the state
as we strive to marshal the valuable natura 1 resource
of water to the greatest benefit of all Californians.
Sincerely,
g~ v2..r
Governor
