A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ARCADIA AUTHORIZING THE
ACQUISITION OF REAL PROPERTY AT THE
NORTHEAST CORNER OF HUNTINGTON DRIVE
AND SECOND A VENUE FOR THE WIDENING OF
SECOND AVENUE.
WHEm~AS, the City of Arcadia has on file a condemnation
action for the acquisition of the hereinafter described property
for the purpose of widening Second Avenue, and
WHEREAS, said property is portion of a larger parcel,
referred to herein as the remainder, and
WHEREAS, said property and said remainder are served by
a railroad spur track, and
WHEREAS, the City and the owner of said property have
negotiated a settlement for the acquisition of said property by
City.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
"
That the City is authorized to acquire the hereinafter
described real property for the sum of $96,500.00 on condition that
the owner of said property consents to removal of a spur track
serving said property and the remainder thereof, and waives any and
all claims to any other compensation for the purchase or taking of
said property or the damage to any remaining property; that City is
further authorized to execute an easement deed to the owner of said
property for the purpose of reinstalling said railroad spur track
in Second Avenue; provided that said spur shall be reinstalled only
for use with improvements on said remaining property, and provided
said easement shall terminate if said spur track is not installed

within ten years; City is further authorized to agree with said
owner that is said spur is reinstalled, City shall make any repairs
or improvements to Second Avenue required by sueh reinstallation.
Said property is located in the City of Arcadia, County of Los
Angeles, State of California, described as fol1ows:
That portion of Lot 1, in Block 84 of Santa Anita Tract, as per
map reeorded in Book 34, Pages 41 and 42 of Miscellaneous'
Records, in the office of the Los Angeles ,County Recorder,
described as follows:
, Beginning at a point in the northerly J,ine of Huntington Drive,
as described in the final decree of condemnation entered in
Los Angeles County Superior Court Case No. 255223, a certified
copy of which was reeorded December 4, 1929, as Instrument No. '
1293, in Book 9570, Page 165 of Official Records of said 'County,
distant westerly thereon 65.39 feet from the intersection of
the westerly line of Tract No. 6860, as per M'ap recorded in Book
78, Page 75 of Maps, in said office of the County Recorder, with
said northerly line of Huntington Drive, said point being the
beginning of a tangent curve, concave northeasterly and having
a ,radius of 11.00 feet, said curve also being tangent at its
northerly terminus to a line that is parallel with the westerly
line of said Lot; thence northwesterly along said curve, an
arc length of 17.28 feet to said northerly terminus; thence
northerly along a line that is parallel with said westerly
line, a distance of 39.00 feet to the beginning of a tangent
cu~ve, concave westerly and having a radius of 540 feet, said
point of beginning of said 540 foot radius curve, being the true
point of beginning for this description; thence southerly along
said parallel line, a distance of'39.00 feet and southeasterly
alung said 11.00 foot radius curve, an arc distance of 17.28
feet to said northerly line of Huntington Drive; thence westerly
along said northerly line of Huntington Drive to the westerly
line of said Lot; thence northerly along said westerly line to
the northwesterly corner of said Lot; thence easterly along' the
northerly line of said Lot to a line that is parallel with and
distant easterly thereon 20 feet, measured at ri~ht angles from
the westerly line of said Lot; thence southerly along said
last mentioned parallel line, a distanee of 167.22 feet to the
beginning of a tangent ,curve, concave easterly and having a
radius of 460 feet, which curve is also tangent at its southerly
terminus with said hereinbefore mentioned 540 foot radius, curve,
thence southerly along said 460 foot 'radius curve to said last
mentioned point of tangency; thence southerly along said 540
foot radius curve to the true point of ~eginning.
EXCEPT therefrom that portion of said land lying
of the northeasterly line of the Right-of-Way of
Top~ka, and Santa Fe Railroad, formerly known as
as shown on the map of said tract.

The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
resolution.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was adopted
at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia
held on the 16th
