A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF ARCADIA DETERMINING THAT
CERTAIN MAINTENANCE WORK CAN BE DONE
MORE ECONOMICALLY BY THE DEPARTMENT
OF PUBLIC WORKS THAN BY BIDDING
, PROCEDURES.
WHEREAS, the annual street maintenance program requires
the application to certain City streets of approximately 6,000
gallons of reelamite and 17,000 gallons of gilsabind; and
WHEREAS, it appears from a report filed with the City
Council by the Direetor of Public Works that the cost of doing
such work through bidding procedures would be approximately $ .86
per gallon for gilsabind and $ .58 per gallon for reclamite; and
WHEREAS, it appears that the Department of Public Works
can apply gilsabind for approximately $ .72 per gallon and reclamite
for approximately $ .42 per gallon.

NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA
RESOLVES THAT:
SECTION 1. The Council determines that the work of
applying 6,000 gallons of reclamite and 17,000 gallons of gilsabind
to certain City streets pursuant to the annual street maintenance
program can be performed more economically by the Department of
Public Works than by doing said work pursuant to bidding procedures
and, therefore, said work is authorized to be performed by the
Department of Public Works without following the usual bidding
procedures.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption
of this resolution.

at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia
