HomeMy WebLinkAbout6252 RESOLUTION NO. 6252 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DESIGNATING AND ADOPTING THE PEACOCK AS THE OFFICIAL BIRD OF THE CITY WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the City of Arcadia designate a species of bird to be used in community promotion activities; and WHEREAS, for years, dating back to the 1880's when Lucky Baldwin first brought peacocks to Arcadia, the bird has (unofficially) been known as the "official bird" of the City of Arcadia; and WHEREAS, the City of Arcadia is home to numerous peacocks and to this day they remain a unique and beautiful feature of the City, NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The City Council hereby adopts and designates the peacock as the official bird of the City of Arcadia, SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
