RESOLUTION NO. 6266
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA,
CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS
FOR URBAN RECREATIONAL AND CULTURAL CENTERS, MUSEUMS,
AND FACILITIES FOR WILDLIFE EDUCATION OR ENVIRONMENTAL,
EDUCATION PROGRAM UNDER THE SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD PARKS,
CLEAN WATER, CLEAN AIR, AND COASTAL PROTECTION
BOND ACT OF 2000 FOR THE REFURBISHMENT OF THE
JOHN F. PANATIER NATURE CENTER AT WILDERNESS PARK
WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted the Urban
Recreational and Cultural Centers, Museums, and Facilities for Wildlife
Education or Environmental Education Program that provides funds to the
State of California for Grants to cities, counties, nonprofit organizations and
federally recognized California Indian Tribes; and
WHEREAS, the California Department of Parks and Recreation has been
delegated the responsibility for the administration of the program within the State,
setting up necessary procedures; and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the California Department of Parks
and Recreation require the applicant to certify by resolution the approval of the
application before submission of said application to the State; and
WHEREAS, the applicant will enter into a contract with the State of
California for the development of this project.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY FIND, DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. The City Council approves the filing of an application for local
assistance funds from the Urban Recreational and Cultural Centers, Museums, and
Facilities for Wildlife Education or Environmental Education Grant Program under
the Safe Neighborhood Parks, Clean Water, Clean Air, and Coastal Protection
Bond Act of 2000.
SECTION 2. The applicant has or will have sufficient funds to
operate and maintain the Project.
SECTION 3. The applicant has reviewed, understands, and
agrees to the General Provisions contained in the Contract shown in the
Procedural Guide.
SECTION 4. The City Council appoints the City Manager, or his/her designee,
to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents including, but not limited
to applications, agreements, payment requests and so on, which are necessary
for the completion of the aforementioned project.

day of November, 2001.

Resolution was adopted by the following vote, to wit:
