RESOLUTION NO. 619.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA
CONSENTING TO THE IMPROVING AND WIDENING BY THE COUNTY OF LOS
ANGELES OF THAT PORTION OF THE CONCRETE BRIDGE ON HUNTINGTON
DRIVE OVER THE SANTA ANITA WASH LYING IN THE CITY OF ARCADIA AND
APPROACH THERETO, AND AGREEING TO SAVE THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES,
ITS OFFICERS, AGENTS AND/OR EMPLOYEES HARMLESS FROM ANY CLAIM FOR
DAMAGE OR COMPENSATION RESULTING FROM SUCH IMPROVING AND WIDENING.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DO RESOLVE AS
FOLLOWS:
It appearing that the County of Los Angeles is willing to
improve and widen that portion of the Concrete Bridge on Hunting-
ton Drive over the Santa Anita Wash, with its approach, lying in
the City of Arcadia, without cost. to said City of Arcadia, as de-
clared in Resolution of the Board of Supervisors, dated May 11,
1')31; and it further appearing that the Board of Supervisors of ,
the County of Los Angeles on June 29, 1931, by Resolution did
decline and refuse to bear any liablli ty or defend or pa:y any
claims for damage or alleged damage resulting from said improve';'

ment and widening which might be made or proved against the
County of Los Angeles, its officers, agents and/or employees;
it appearing by said Resolution of the Board of SUpervi sors,
dated June 29, 1931, that the County of Los Angeles would not
proceed with such improvement and widening in the City of Arca~a
unless the City of Arcadia should agree to save the County of' Los
Angeles, its officers, agents and/or employees harmless from any
and all such claims;
The City Council of the City of Arcadia for and on be-
half of the City of Arcadia do agree and covenant that the City
of Arcadia will assume any and all l1ablli ty for claims or alleg-
ed claims and/or compensation of any kind whatsoever which may be
made against the County of Los Angeles, its officers, agents and/
or employees for injury or alleged injury to persons or property
resulting from the improving and widening of the bridge and
approach thereto lying within the City of Arcadia and/or resulting
or alleged to result from the manner of making such improvement and

made against the County of Los Angeles, its officers, agents and/or
employees, and the City of Arcadia does agree and covenant that it
employees harmless from any such claims.
The agreement by the City Council herein given to save
The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
Resolution.
The foregoing Resolution was adopted at a regular meeting of
