I- ~ u fJl > .. ~ " z ;; 16 . 0 z 0 . . z ~ 0 :J ~ 2 -\ 17 0 18 - 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 . - RESOLUTION NO. 670-A THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DO RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, it has been publicly announced that the State Forestry Service is endeavoring to secure the use of Roes Field and the Hangars situate thereon for the purpose of housing tran- sient and unemployed men who are in the emplOY of the State Labor Camps, and ITHEREAS, there are no adequate facilities at said Ross Field for the housing of any considerable number of men, and WHEREAS, the housing of any considerable number of men at said Ross Field or in the Hangars situate thereon will lead to such deplorable sanitary conditions as to create a serious health hazard within such City of Arcadia and will also result in the need of increased police protection. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City of Arcadia hereby emphat- ically pretests to the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los Angeles and the War Department of the United States and the State Forestry Servlce against Ross Field and/or the Hangars thereon belng used in any manner whatever for the housing of any transient and unemployed men for the reason that there are no adequate san- itary facilities for such housing in said Ross Field, there being no sewage facilities ln connection therewith, and for the further reason that the expenditure of moneys necessary to render said Ross Field habitable for such transient and unemployed men will require an expenditure of money far in excess of any permanent benefit that can be derived therefrom and for the reason that the o housing of any considerable number of transient and unemploye\men in such a restricted area will lead to deplorable conditions and create an lntolerable situation so far as the City of Arcadia is concerned, and -1- 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 z o ~ . Patrick J. Hurley, Secretary of Uar, and W. H. Coupe, State Forester. The Clty Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ReBo~ utlon. The foregoing Resolution was adopted at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadla, held on the 7th. day of February, 1933, by the affirmative vote of at least three Councilmen, to-wlt: AYES: Councilmen, Busse, Link, Krebs, Schrader and Seaman, NOES: None, and signed and approved this 7th. day of February, 1933.
