RESOLUTION no. 699
\7HEREAS,. under and by virtue of Chapter 767 of the
statutes of 1935, the Department of Publio ~orka of the State
of California is authorized to expend annually from the state
High~ay fund an ~ount equal to one quarter of one cant per
Ballon tax on motor vehicle fuel, after the proportionate
payments therefraa into the "Fuel tax enforcement fund" and
after the proportionate refunds shall have been made, within
the Ino.rporated cities and freeholder charter cities, &nd any
city and county in the State of California, for the purposes
epeoified in said ohapter, and in the manner provided by lau,
and
\JlillREAS, in acoordance ui th the provisions of' said
Chapter 767, and in accordanco uith the provisions of Sections
363r and 363y of the Political Code (Chapter 326 of the Statutues
of 1933), the Depar~ent of PUblic Jorks, actins by and through
the California Highway Commission, has designated as stQte High-
uays the following described streets in the
City of Arcadia, Los Angeles County,
Route 9.
Through Arcadia
0.3 mile
Be~innine at the west city limits of Arcadia
on Foothill Boulevard at Second Avenue, thence
easterly over Foothill Boulevard to tho boundry of
of tho oities of Arcadia end wonrovia, a distance
of 0.3 ~le, more or less, within the corporate
limits of Arcadia;
Route 101.
Through Arc.adia
3.0 miloe
Bo~inning at the west city limits of Arcadia
at a pOint on the extension of Colorado Eoulevard
about 1.3 miles east of Eaton \lash, thenoe easterly
over Colorado Boulevard extension about 2.1 miles
to a junction with Huntington DriVc, thence easterly
over liuntinGton Drive about 0.9 mile to the boundary
between .\rcadia and ~onrovia at 5th Avenue, a total
distance of 3 miles, more or less, within the cor-
porate limits of Aroad1a;
which said streots are existing travelable streets in the C1ty
of Aroadia, and apprOXimately on the route of the authorized
state high~aya, and
\"lHEREAS, the Director of Public tlorks and the California
Highway Commission have requested the City of Aroadia to approve
the routinG hereinbefore described and to agreo to resume juris-
diction over said oity streets, or portions thereof, as may not be in-
cluded in the state hiGhuays, uhen the same arc laid out, adopted,
and oonstructed, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Arcedi a
acting on tehalf of said o1ty, that said city approve, and it does
hereby approve, the routing of said StLte h1~huays;
that upon the relinquishment of sa1d streets, or any por-
tion thereof, to tho City of Arcadia 1n the manner prov1ded by
law, said city agree, and does hereby a3ree, to resume juris-
diotion over said streets, or portion thereof, so relinquished.
