HomeMy WebLinkAbout4356 RESOLUTION NO. 4356 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, ORDERING CERTAIN CHANGES AND MODIFICATIONS IN THE ASSESSMENT, THE PRO- CEEDINGS, AND "REPORT" IN THE MATTER OF THE CONSTRUCTION OF CERTAIN IMPROVEMENTS TOOETHER WITH APPURTENANCES IN ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 72-1 (ARCADIA INDUSTRIAL PARK) WHEREAS, There has been filed with the City Clerk an assess- ment to represent the costs and expenses of the work and improve- ment done pursuant to proceedings had and taken under the provi- sions of the "Municpal Improvement Act of 1913", being Division 12 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, and pursuant to the "Report" filed and previously approved by this City Council in the matter of the construction of certain public improvements together with appurtenances in ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 72-1 (ARCADIA INDUSTRIAL PARK). WHEREAS, the public interest and convenience require that cer- tain changes and modifications be made in certain assessments in the assessment proceedings and. "Report" as filed with the City Clerk. WHEREAS, prior to said public hearing sealed bids were re- ceived and considered for the construction of the public improve- ment work in said assessment district and based on the recommenda- tion of the Engineer of Work it is determined that assessments could be reduced because of the favorable bid so received. NOO, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, as follows, SECTION 1. That the Engineer of Work is hereby ordered to make certain modifications in certain assessments in the assessment proceedings and "Report" for ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 72-1 (ARCADIA INDUSTRIAL PARK) as set forth on Exhibit ~'A", attached hereto and made a part hereof. SECTION 2. That it is in the best public interest and con- venience that assessments relating to ASSESSMENT DISTRICT NO. 72-1 -1- 4356 (ARCADIA INDUSTRIAL PARK) be reduced because of favorable bids that have been received for the construction of certain improve- ment work in said assessment district. SECTION 3. Assessments are hereby reduced in the amounts as set forth in Exhibit "A". SECTION 4. That the Engineer of Work is hereby ordered to make the above corrections and modifications to the assessment roll and the assessments contained in said assessment roll and said report. SECTION 5. The proceedings. assessment and "Report" as herein amended and modified shall stand as the proceeedings, assessment and "Report" for purpose of all subsequent proceedings. The diagram and assessment numbers' appearing herein are the diagram numbers appearing on the assessment dia- gram, to which reference is hereby made for a more particular description of said property. Each subdivision of land is described in the assessment list by reference to its, parcel number as shown on the assessor's maps of the County of Los Angeles for the fiscal year of 1972-1973. And because the names of the several owners are unknown to me, I hereby place the word ,iUnknown" opposite the number of each subdivision of land assessed and the amount assessed thereon. All parcels assessed are as shown by their respective assessment number as shown on the Assessment Diagram hereto attached and a copy of which will be filed in the office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County after the confirma- tion of the assessment. For particulars in property descrip- tions, reference is made to the Assessment Diagram. Notice is hereby given that serial bonds to represent unpaid assessments and bear interest at the rate of not to exceed seven percent (7%) per annum will be issued hereunder in the manner provided by Division 10 of the Streets and High- ways Code, the Improvement Bond Act of 1915, and the last installment of such bonds shall mature not to exceed twenty-four (24) years from the second day of July next succeeding 10 months from their date.
