HomeMy WebLinkAbout4364 RESOLUTION NO. 4364 A RESOLUTION OF ~HE CI~Y COUNCIL OF ~HE CI~Y OF ARCADIA DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO VACATE A PORTION OF BALDWIN AVENUE AT THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF LAS TUNAS DRIVE. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES HEREBY DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Arcadia pursuant to Chapters 1, 2 and 3 of Part 3 of Division 9 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California, Section 8300, et seq., does hereby declare its intention to vacate and abandon a portion of Baldwin Avenue at the southeast corner of Las Tunas Drive located in the City of Arcadia, County of Los Angeles, State Of California, more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the easterly line of Baldwin Avenue 55 feet wide and the southerly line of Las Tunas Drive 100 feet wide as shown on map of Tract No. 6641 recorded in Book 126, page 67, of Maps in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County, thence easterly 25.29 feet along said southerly line; thence southerly parallel with said easterly line 12.30 feet to the true point of beginning; thence westerly at right angles 4 feet; thence southerly parallel with said easterly line 54.74 feet; thence southwesterly 70 feet to a point that is 19 feet, measured at right angles from said easterly line; thence southerly, parallel with said easterly line to the southerly line of Lot 42 of said Tract; thence easterly along last mentioned lot line to a point that is 25.29 feet easterly of first said easterly line; thence northerly parallel with said avenue to the true point of beginning. Said property i8 no longer required for public use; provided, that the public convenience and necessity require the reservation of a permanent easement for underground electrical service over the southerly 10 feet of the above described property and these proceedings are taken subject to such reservation. SECTION 2. The hearing will be set for the meeting of the City Council on October 2, 1973, at 7:30 o'clock p.m. in the -1- 4364 Council Chambers, Arcadia City Hall, 240 West Huntington Drive, Arcadia, California, at which time any person interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation and abandonment may appear and be heard. SECTION 3. Notice of the passage of this resolution and of the aforesaid hearing shall be posted in the manner required by law. SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and shall cause the same to be published once in the Arcadia Tribune at least ten days before the date of said hearing.
