RESOLUTION NO. 5039
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
ARCADIA, CALIFORNIA, CONSENTING TO ESTABLISHMENT
OF JEFFRIES AVENUE AND TENTH AVENUE INTERSECTION
WITHIN SAID CITY AS A PART OF THE SYSTEM OF
HIGHWAYS OF THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES.
WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors did on April 20, 1982, duly
adopt a Resolution declaring the Jeffries Avenue and Tenth Avenue
intersection, within the City of Arcadia, to be a part of the
System of Highways of the County of Los Angeles, all as provided
in Sections 1700 to 1704 inclusive of the Streets and Highways
Code of the State of California; and
WHEREAS, said Board of Supervisors by said Resolution re-
quested this Council to give its consent to allow the County to
acquire right of way, construct improvements and perform appurtenant
work within said intersection in the City of Arcadia described
above; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 15101, Class 1 (xl of the State
Guidelines, the Secretary of Resources designated this type of
project as categorically exempt.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Arcadia does
resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. Consent to Inclusion in County Hiqhways System.
This City Council does hereby consent to the establishment of
the portion of the Jeffries Avenue and Tenth Avenue intersection,
within the City of Arcadia, as a part of the System of Highways
inclusive of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of
California. Said consent is for the purpose of acquiring right
of way, constructing i~provements and performing appurtenant work
as may be necessary by the County of Los Angeles.
SECTION 2. Findinq of Cateqorical Exemption. This City
Council does hereby find that:
The project is categorically exempt from the requirement
for an Environmental Impact Report pursuant to Class 1 (xl of
the State of California's Guidelines for Implementation of the
California Environmental Quality Act of 1970.

SECTION 3. Findinq of a Minor Nature~ This City Council
does hereby find that pursuant to Government Code, section 65402
(b), the aforesaid improvement is for street improvements of a
minor nature and that, therefore, the provisions of said Section
requiring the submission to and report upon said project by the
City Planning Commission do not apply.
SECTION 4. That the Clerk of the Council shall eertify to the adoption
of this resolution.
I HEREBY,CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted at a regular
meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia held on the 18th day of
May, 1982
