RESOLUTION NO. 5041
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF ARCADIA ESTABLISHING COMPENSATION FOR
VARIOUS POSITIONS IN MANAGEMENT FOR THE FISCAL
YEAR 1982-83 AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 4842
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES HEREBY RESOLVE
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Effective June 27, 1982, the Salary Schedule shall
be improved by 7% for Management classifications shown on Attach-
ment A, except those classifications listed in Section 2 and Section
3, which is by this reference incorporated herein. The City shall
continue to provide as Deferred Compensation a set dollar amount to
be paid toward the Management employees' contribution to the Public
Employee's Retirement System. Except for classifications specified
in Section 2 hereof, effective June 27, 1982, the set dollar amount
to be paid as Deferred Compensation shall be an amount equal to 6%
of the June 27, 1982 Salary Schedule rate for each employee.
SECTION 2. The Salary Schedule rates for the classifications
of Assistant, City Engineer/Water Manager, Business License Officer
and City Clerk shall be set at the following Salary Schedule rates
effective July 1, 1982, in lieu of the increase listed in Section
1.

Effective July 1, 1982, the set dollar amount to be paid as Deferred
Compensation shall be an amount equal to 6% of the July 1, 1982
Salary Schedule rate for each classification specified in this Section 2.
SECTION 3. The Salary Schedule rate for the classification of
City Manager shall be set at the following Salary Schedule rate
effective June 27, 1982.
City Manager $53,000
SECTION 4, Management Leave. Management employees shall be
provided seven days management leave time per fiscal year. Such
leave time is nonaccumulable and if not used within the fiscal year,
cannot be carried forward nor will compensation be paid in lieu
thereof under any circumstances.

SECTION 5. Medical Insurance. The City shall provide paid
employee and dependent medical insurance coverage or at the discretion
of the employee, a dollar amount equal to such coverage paid into
the employee's account in the City's deferred compensation plan.
SECTION 6. Dental Insurance. The City shall provide employee
only dental coverage with the "schedule" equal to current fees and
pay 100% of schedule from time of enrollment.
SECTION 7. Life Insurance. Management employees shall be pro-
vided term life insurance equal to their annual salary rounded off
to the nearest (next lowest) one thousand dollars and the City
shall provide $10,000 life insurance to retirees who retire after
July 1, 1979.
SECTION 8. Vacation. Management employees shall take a minimum
of 50% of their vacation days earned during the calendar year prior
to the end of that calendar year. The remaining vacation days may
be accumulated without any limit. Such employees may sell-back a
maximum of ten (10) days vacation per calendar year, provided that
the em?l~~:e takes an equal amount of vacation leave during that year.
SECTION 9. sick Leave. Management employees shall be allowed
unlimited accumulation of sick leave.
SECTION 10. Service Club Meals & Management Physical Examina-
tions. A portion of the Salary increases in Section 1, Section 2,
and Section 3 is being granted in lieu of Management service club
meals and physicals which are hereby eliminated.
SECTION 11. Management Exceptional Service Fund. That Reso-
lution No. 4842 "Concerning Management Exceptional Service Fund" is
hereby rescinded. Part of the salary increases provided for in
Resolution No. 4972 were in lieu of the monies provided for by
Resolution No. 4842.
SECTION 12. All Management employees, as shown on Attachment
A, shall receive the above Management Benefits as granted by the
City Council in lieu of pay for any overtime worked.

SECTION 13. The Salaries and benefits specified in Sections
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 of this Resolution shall terminate
on the first day of each calendar month following the adoption of
this resolution and shall automatically be renewed for the following
calendar month unless prior thereto the City Council modifies the
same by resolution. The City Council expressly reServes the right
to modify, decrease and/or revoke the salaries and benefits speci-
fied in the Sections referred to in this Section and
they shall not constitute an expressed or implied contract
by the City of Arcadia to provide or pay the same.
SECTION 14. This resolution shall become effective June 27,
1982.
SECTION 15. The City Clerk shall certify to the a~9Ption of
this resolution.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was adopted at
a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Arcadia held
on the 15th day of June, 1982 by the affirmative vote of at least
three Councilmen, to wit:
