GH~EAS. the City Counoil of the City of Aroadia..did on the 12th day of Hovember, 1935, at un adJourned meeting thereof. bY vote of more than two-thirds of all lts members.duly and resu- lorly poss and adopt Resolutlon lio. 783 ,of said City of Arcadia, detormlnln~ and declaring that the publio interest and neoessity demani the acquisition and oonstructlon by said City of Aroadla of 0 certain muniolpal improvoment~ to-wlt: a muniolpal sewer system for the colleot10n and disposal of the scwage of sald Clty, lnoludin~ the aoql11sit lon um co natruot1on of a sewaije disposal plant, tOtiether ~lth all lands, easements aDd rights of way neoessary therefor. and the acquls1tion and co~tructlon of an outfall seuer anl sewer malns. including the aoquisitlon of all matorlals, equipmont, labar, easements andrishts of way necessary therefor; and WHEREAS, the City Councl1 of the City of Aroadia did on the 26th d~ of ~ovember, 1936, at a regularly adJourned meeting thereof. duly and regularly pass ani adopt Ordlnance Ho. 326 of sald City of Arcac..ia, oal1l~ and prov1J.11l,3 for the holdl~ of a speoial eleotion to be held in the Clty of Aroadia on Thursday, tho 12th' day of December, 1936, far the purpose of submltt1D,J to the quallfled electors of sald City, the propositicn of incurring indebtedness and lssuiQ3 bcnds of said City thorefor in the amounts and for tb.e obJeots and purposes Bet forth in said ResolutioD No. 783; aDd ~HEREAS, said Ordlnance lio. 325 was published once a week for two successive weeks in the Arcadia Trlbune. a weekly -1- . . . . - newspaper published ani oiroulated.in said City of Aroadial and UHBREAS, it appears that notice of sa1d eleotion was duly and redularly Biven; that the voting precinote therein were properly establiDhed; that election offio8rs were appointed, elec- tion suppl1es furnished and votlDg plaoes provided as required by law, and that in all respects said eleotion was held and oonducted and the votes cast thereat reoeived an! canvassed and the returns thereof made and declared 10 time, form and manner as required by law; and UBEREAS, the City Counoil of the City of Aroadia has met and is in session at the Counoil Chambers of the City of Aroadia this 16th d~ of December, 1936 to canvass the returns of said electlon; .NOll, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA AS FOLLOWS: That said City Council of the City of Arcadia does here- by find, determine and deolare that said speoial eleotion was held and conducted in eaid City of Arcadia on Thursday, Deoember 12th, 1936 in the time, form and manner as required by law; That for the purpose of such eleotion the City of Arcadia waS divided into four eleotion preoincts, consisting of consolida- tiolE of the regular election preoinots established for holding state and oounty eleotions, as more fully appears in said Ordinance I/o. 326; That one propoeiticn was submitted to the qualified electors of said City of Arcadia, which said proposition was as follows: l'ROl'OSITION DO. 1 "Shall the City of Arcad1a inour a bonded indebtedness in the principal sum of 0160,000.00 for the acquisition and oon- struotion by the City of Arcadia of a certain munloipal improve- ment, to-wit, a municipal sewer system for the eollectlcn and -2- . . . - disposal of the uewage of said oit~, inoluding tho aoquisition ODd couetraotion cf a sewage d18posal plo.ut, together with all lands, easements aDd rights of way neoessary thorefor, and the aoquisi- tion and construction of an outfall sewer aDd sewer mains, includ- ing the acquisition of all materials, equipment, labor, easements and. rights of w/l3 neoessary therefor (the estimated cost of suoh municipal improvement is (}271,909,OO and :)121,909.00 of the oost thereof i6 to be paid by the United States of AmeriCa)?" The polls for said eleotion were opened at 6:00 o'clook A. U. of tho daa of said eleotion and remained open continuously from aaid time until 7:00 o'clock P. U, of the SaIll3 day, when said pOlls were olosed; except aDd prcvided, howover, that said polls were kept open a suffioient 'length of timo to enable any voters at the polling plaoes or in line at the e~rance thereof, at said hour of oloeing, who were qualified to vote at said election and who ~ere not able to do so slnce appearing, to vote at said oleotion. ~hat the whole number of votes cast at said electicn in said City of Arcadia was 1,466. That the number of qualified eleotors who voted "Yes" on Proposition Do, 1 at said election, was 560.
