HomeMy WebLinkAbout4603 o RESOLUTION NO. 4603 A ro~SOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA ORDERING THE VACATION OF A PORTION OF THE ALLEY LOCATED BETWEEN SANTA CLARA AVENUE AND WHEELER STREET AND FIRST AND SECOND AVENUES THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ARCADIA DOES HEREBY DETERMINE AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That on recommendation of the Department of Public Works of the City of Arcadia, Resolution No. 4593 was adopted declaring the intention of the Arcadia City Council to vacate and abandon a por- tion of the alley located between Santa Clara Avenue and Wheeler Street and First and Second Avenues, in the City of Arcadia, County of Los Angeles, State of California, more particularly described as follows: The westerly 50' of the alley located in Block 77 of IAI'cadia" Santa Anita Tract as per map recorded in Book l5~ pages 89 and 90 of Miscellaneous Records, in the Office of the County Recorder of said County. A public hearing was duly held on January 4, 1977, on posted notice and publication of said Resolution No. 4593, at the hour of 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of Arcadia City Hall, 240 West Huntington Drive, Arcadia, California, for the purpose of hearing all persons in- terested in or objecting to the proposed vacation of the above-described portion of alley. At said public hearing, the City Council accepted and received all testimony offered in support of, or in objection to, said proposed vacation. SECTION 2. That the City Council finds from all the evidence submitted that the said portion of street hereinabove described, and so included in the description in the resolution of intention to vacate -1- 4603 said alley, l.S unnecessary for present or prospective street purposes, and therefore, it is ordered that the above-described portion of street be vacated. SECTION 3. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 5079 of the Public Resources Code of the State of California, this Council does hereby find and determine that neither hereinabove-described portion of said alley nor parts thereof are useful as bicycle paths or routes. SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and shall cause a certified copy thereof to be recorded in the office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County.
